Roblox YouTuber Runs Onto Stage Shouting ‘We Deserve Better,’ Gets Tackled and Ejected

A YouTuber stormed Roblox's conference stage, yelling 'We deserve better,' and was dragged away by security.

A man wearing a shirt reading 'Kids deserve better' is dragged away by security at a conference stage.

A Roblox YouTuber named Mathieo ran onto the stage at the company’s 2026 Developers Conference in San Jose, California, shouting “We deserve better, don’t we deserve better” and revealing a shirt that read “Kids deserve better.” Security tackled him and escorted him out.

The incident happened during CEO David Baszucki’s introduction. Baszucki played it down, saying, “We all get a little excited when RDC comes along, as we just saw.”

Mathieo shared the stunt online himself, posting a quote on X that read “just got kicked out #rdc26 💔.” He then explained his reasoning in a short YouTube video.

The stunt itself

Mathieo appeared on stage during the CEO’s introduction, shouting his message and showing his shirt. Security quickly responded, and he was escorted out of the venue.

His stated grievance

In the video, Mathieo said he was not criticizing the people at the conference. “I just do believe that Roblox [Corporation] isn’t as dumb as they say they are,” he said. “Everybody’s saying they don’t want AI. Everybody’s saying they don’t want these faces messed up. Everybody wants better child safety.”

He added: “Every single slow year of progress is just another year where children are actually affected.”

What the criticism covers

Roblox’s child safety measures have faced years of scrutiny. The company has recently introduced child accounts. The US Senate is actively investigating the platform. The EU’s Digital Services Act aims to force Roblox Corporation’s hand in protecting minors.

One investment firm has called the game a “pedophile hellscape.” Baszucki has made awkward remarks about child safety in the past:

  1. He once suggested Roblox become a dating hub.
  2. In a disastrous interview with the New York Times, he said “the problem of predators on Roblox” was “not necessarily just as a problem, but an opportunity as well.”

The quote on X

Mathieo posted his own account of the incident on X, writing “just got kicked out #rdc26 💔.” He followed that with his YouTube video explaining his reasoning.

What Mathieo said next

“We’ve seen that telling them just doesn’t work,” Mathieo said in the video. “It’s been many years now where this has been a really prevalent issue. And while they’re ‘finding a fix,’ there’s probably a lot of kids that have been harmed on Roblox recently.”

The company’s position

Roblox Corporation has not yet responded publicly to the incident. Comment on the incident has not been provided.

Why this matters

Child safety on Roblox has been criticized for years, and the company’s response has included child accounts and Senate scrutiny. Mathieo’s action was dramatic, but it also put the issue front and center.

What happens next

Mathieo has documented the incident himself. Roblox has not commented publicly yet.

The question now is whether the company responds with action, or whether this becomes another example of “telling them just doesn’t work.”
