Hyperallergic is opening its doors to a night of studio visits on Wednesday, September 30, and the guest list is packed with artists whose work spans media and geography. The event, called Member Event: ISCP Ground Floor Open Studios, brings together seven artists-in-residence from the International Studio & Curatorial Program’s Ground Floor Residency, all of whom work out of studios in New York City.

Who Is Hosting
Hyperallergic is hosting the evening. The event is free for Hyperallergic members, and refreshments will be served. Non-members can sign up to join the membership tier and attend.
The Artists
Each artist approaches the residency from a different angle. Here is a quick look at the seven participants:
- Frank WANG Yefeng — a transdisciplinary artist living and working between New York City and Shanghai, whose practice explores the experience of “in-betweenness.”
- Zoë Pulley — a Brooklyn-based artist, educator, and designer whose work in textiles, writing, and digital media examines American heritage and the everyday stories of Black folks.
- Keli Safia Maksud — an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in New York, whose practice traces the intersections of space, power, and memory through installation, sound, and sculpture.
- Maya Jeffereis — an artist and filmmaker whose work in video, performance, and installation expands on overlooked histories with counter narratives, personal histories, and speculative fictions.
- Alicia Grullón — a US-born Dominican conceptual artist who critiques the politics of presence in political, environmental, and social spheres through image-making, performance, and social practice.
- Erick Hernandez — a painter whose mural-sized figurative work explores individual and collective histories through highly temporal settings like subway commutes or waiting rooms.
- Kara Springer — an artist concerned with armature, the underlying structure that holds a body in place, who works with photography, sculpture, and site-specific interventions to explore systems of infrastructure and structural support.
What Happens on September 30
Visitors move from studio to studio, meeting each artist face-to-face as they talk about their current projects.

The studios are at 1040 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11211. The event runs from 6 to 8pm ET.
Why This Matters
Over three decades, ISCP has hosted more than 2,000 artists and curators from more than 105 countries, including the United States. The Ground Floor Residency is a chance to see some of those artists up close.
The Verdict
This is a rare opportunity to step inside working studios and hear directly from artists about what they are making right now. The range of practices — sculpture, video, installation, photography, textiles — means viewers with different interests will find something that speaks to them.
