Apple TV has won more Emmys than anyone else this year, and the streamer did it with two shows that barely existed a year ago. The company’s original service took 28 awards at the 2026 ceremony on Monday, topping its own previous high from just a year earlier. That is the first time Apple TV has led all outlets at the Emmys since it launched in 2019.
The comedy Widow’s Bay accounted for half of the streamer’s total, winning 14 awards and breaking the record for most wins by a comedy. The horror-comedy also captured six Emmys during the live telecast, including best comedy series, plus eight Creative Arts honors. Its sister show, the drama Pluribus, added six more wins, including drama lead actress (Rhea Seehorn) and best writing for a drama (Vince Gilligan).
The Numbers Behind the Record
Apple TV’s 28 wins came from 87 nominations, which means the streamer won exactly a third of the Emmys for which it was nominated. That is a very high batting average for a service that has spent years building its catalog. The haul included eight Creative Arts honors for Widow’s Bay and six total for Pluribus, with the remaining eight Emmys spread across Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Palm Royale, Slow Horses and Mr. Scorsese.
The record-setting performance capped a two-year surge for the streamer. Prior to 2025, Apple TV had topped out at 10 Emmy wins in a single year, in 2021 and 2023. Last year it more than doubled that total with 22 awards. Now it has set an all-time high with 29.
How the Field Shook Out
The competition was tight. Last year’s Emmy leaders, HBO Max and Netflix, fell to second and third place after coming in first and second in nominations this year. HBO Max, which counts both the streamer and HBO’s cable channel for Emmy purposes, claimed 21 awards across the Creative Arts and primetime ceremonies. Netflix had 16 wins.
Prime Video reached double digits with 10 Emmys, including the five it shared with MGM+ for Spider-Noir. NBC, Peacock, CBS, Disney+, MGM+, FX, Nat Geo, ABC, PBS, YouTube and Comedy Central rounded out the list of outlets with multiple wins.
What Widow’s Bay and Pluribus Won
Widow’s Bay won six Emmys during the live telecast, including best comedy series. Its 14 total awards broke the prior record of 13 for a comedy, which was also set last year by another Apple series, The Studio. The Rest of Apple TV’s Wins
The remaining eight Emmys came from a range of titles across the Apple catalog. Margo’s Got Money Troubles took three, as did Palm Royale. Slow Horses and Mr. Scorsese each added to the total. The haul showed the streamer’s strength across different genres.
How the Other Big Names Fared
HBO Max’s DTF St. Louis earned seven of its 21 awards, while The Pitt contributed six. Netflix’s Beef and Love on the Spectrum each took three apiece. Spider-Noir shared five wins with MGM+. The Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on NBC also won seven Emmys.
