Battlefield Studios has confirmed that Redsec, the battle royale spin-off of Battlefield 6, is getting its own version of a popular Call of Duty: Warzone mode. The new mode is called Rapid Royale, and it borrows directly from Warzone’s Resurgence.
The announcement is another sign that Redsec is positioned as a direct answer to Duty’s Warzone. Battlefield Studios has been adding features that mirror the Call of Duty experience, and Rapid Royale is the latest example.
The Pace of Rapid Royale
Rapid Royale is built around a faster pace than the main Redsec mode. It uses dedicated maps that are far smaller than the standard large area. The player count is reduced, and the circles move faster, pushing players into closer contact more quickly.
The result is more frequent fights and matches that finish noticeably shorter than the main mode. If you have played Warzone’s Resurgence, the principles are the same: many ways to respawn after death, tight spaces, and constant action.
Battlefield Studios has not given Rapid Royale a release date yet. It arrives as part of Season 5, which also lacks a confirmed launch window. The studio has only offered a vague “winter 2026” target for the season.
Tidal Strike Starts Soon
Before Season 5 arrives, Season 4 has one more stage to deliver. The final stage is named Tidal Strike, and it starts on 15th September. This stage introduces proximity chat to the game for the first time.
Proximity chat lets players talk to others around them who are not part of their group. It is first available only in battle royale mode. The plan is to expand it to Battlefield 6 multiplayer down the road.
The feature works as the name suggests. If you are near another player, you can hear them and speak to them.
Season 4 Has Been Large
Season 4 has already brought major changes to Battlefield 6. It introduced naval combat alongside the game’s biggest map yet.
The second stage of the season went further. It added a Top Gun collaboration, which brought a distinct flavor to the game. It also included a remake of Wake Island, a classic map that fans of the series will recognize.
Two-seater jets arrived in that stage as well. The stage also redesigned Carrier Assault, a mode that now goes by the name Carrier Strike.
What Season 5 Brings
Season 5 is expected to bring three new maps to Battlefield 6. Beyond that, the studio has not announced what else is coming. Rapid Royale is one of the few confirmed additions so far.
The lack of a release date for Season 5 leaves players waiting. The “winter 2026” target is the only timeline available. That means the new maps and modes are still months away.
For now, players have Tidal Strike to look forward to. The proximity chat feature will be new to the experience, and it could change how groups work together.
Why This Mode Matters
Rapid Royale is not the first time Redsec has borrowed from Warzone. The mode has been described as a response to Call of Duty’s popular battle royale. Today’s news supports that argument.
The faster pace is the key selling point. Shorter matches mean you can jump in and out quickly. The smaller maps mean you are never far from the action.
Battlefield Studios is clearly watching what works in the competition. Rapid Royale is an attempt to capture the same energy.
What Comes Next
The immediate focus is Tidal Strike on 15th September. That stage brings proximity chat, which is a first for the game. It will be interesting to see how players use it.
After that, the wait for Season 5 begins. Rapid Royale is one of several new additions coming in that season, but there is no date yet. The “winter 2026” window is all we have.
Here is the timeline of what is coming:
- Tidal Strike starts 15th September with proximity chat.
- Season 5 arrives with Rapid Royale and faster matches.
- Three new maps come to Battlefield 6 in Season 5.
- Carrier Strike and two-seater jets are already live from Season 4.
Battlefield 6 and Redsec are available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is set for a busy stretch. Naval combat, a Top Gun crossover, and now a faster battle royale mode. The studio is not slowing down.
