Kenny Chesney is heading back to stadiums in 2027, and he is bringing Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Greylan James along for the ride. The Country Music Hall of Famer announced his Original Vibe Room Tour 2027, with the first stop in Tampa, Florida, on April 24 and the final show at Foxborough, Massachusetts’ Gillette Stadium on Aug. 28.
Chesney spent two years leading his Las Vegas residency at Sphere before making the call to return to the big stages. The tour marks his eighth appearance at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, with stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Nashville along the way.
The Call to Eric Church
Chesney said the decision to tour came down to watching his fans react. “When we started to talk about touring next year, all I could think about was how good those stadiums feel… how loud, how fast, how much energy comes hurling at us,” he said in a statement. “I don’t think I knew how much I missed it.”
He then reached out to Eric Church, who had appeared with him during that first weekend in Vegas. “I called Eric, who’d come out that first weekend in Vegas and sang a few with me, to see if he’d want to do this,” Chesney said. “He was in.”
Crow followed. “Then to give fans a twist, something a little different, but someone who rocks and everyone in No Shoes Nation loves, I asked Sheryl Crow if she wanted to come play with us; and she said, ‘Yes.’ Suddenly, we’ve got all that high-powered energy, and it was starting to feel the same way we did way back in the day…”
Cities and Dates
The tour visits six major markets across the eastern half of the United States. Here is the full list of stops:
- April 24: Tampa, Florida (Raymond James Stadium)
- Aug. 28: Foxborough, Massachusetts (Gillette Stadium)
Chesney’s 25th show at Gillette Stadium will be a milestone. The tour also marks his 13th year in Pittsburgh and Detroit, his 12th stadium show in Philadelphia and his ninth stop in New Jersey, Dallas-Fort Worth and Kansas City.
What the Fans Said
Chesney credited fan reactions for pushing the tour forward. “I realized: we should make next year be all about the stadiums. So, we did.”
He also reflected on the connection stadiums hold for him and his fans. “It’s crazy to think these stadiums where I see football played every week are like coming home for the band and myself, but also really No Shoes Nation which rose out of these stadium parking lots,” he said. “Stadiums are where we come most alive – and this tour’s taking it to a whole other level.”
Silver Sands Marina
Before the tour starts, Chesney will release his 21st album, Silver Sands Marina, on Sept. 25. The 11-song project marks his first on his new independent label, Hey Now Records, which launched earlier this year.
Greylan James rounds out the supporting acts. The newcomer is known as a writer on songs by Jordan Davis, Morgan Wallen and more.
The dates are set, the lineup is locked, and the album is on the way. For Chesney, it is all about the stadiums again.
