Song Kang Loses His Grip
Song Kang plays Jeong Gu-won, a demon described as cold and carefree. Kim You-jung plays Do Do-hee, a haughty but organized conglomerate heiress. Their fateful encounter leaves him temporarily without his abilities. She may hold the key to getting them back.
The show builds its central engine on a contract marriage. The two agree to help each other. Over time the arrangement turns into romance — and both come to realize that romance may be dangerous to the other.

Do Do-hee is the role Kim You-jung was built for. The heiress is haughty and organized at once, and the series lets her be both without apology.
The Contract Marriage
The contract marriage is the oldest trick in the genre, and My Demon knows it. What saves the device is that both parties need something and neither says so plainly. The arrangement carries the first half of the season.
Lee Sang-yi and the Supporting Cast
Lee Sang-yi confirmed his role in April 2023 and was preparing for filming. He plays Ju Seok-hoon. Kim Hae-sook plays Ju Cheon-suk, and Jo Hye-joo plays Jin Ga-young.
The rest of the ensemble fills out the household and the office: Kim Tae-hun, Jo Yeon-hee, Lee Yoon-ji, Seo Jeong-yeon, Heo Jeong-do, Park Jin-woo and Cha Chung-hwa round out the billed cast. Their characters — Noh Suk-min, Kim Se-ra, Noh Su-ahn, Shin Da-jeong, Park Bok-gyu, Han Min-su and Noh Suk-nyeo — give the leads a world to move through.
A Demon Who Cannot Protect Her
The series’ smartest move is the danger clause. The couple’s romance may be dangerous to the other, and the show means it. That premise is the reason to keep watching past the wedding.
