Capri Sun is finally answering the question that has plagued lunchboxes for decades: what if the pouch held more juice? The Kraft Heinz brand has unveiled the Big Pouch, a refillable container that holds roughly three times as much of the drink as the standard six-ounce foil pouch.
The announcement comes after nearly 80% of recent fan requests reportedly asked for a larger size. Capri Sun Associate Brand Director Claire Lukaszewski told reporters that over 6,000 fans had requested bigger pouches on Reddit.
The Numbers Behind the Big Pouch
The Big Pouch stands nearly nine inches tall and is twice as wide as the original. It sells for $6, but here is the twist: it comes empty. Customers refill it themselves. The package also includes a much larger version of Capri Sun’s signature straw and a coupon redeemable toward any flavor.
The release is limited to Walmart.com, where a small number of pouches will go on sale in daily drops starting September 21 and running through September 24, while supplies last.
Fans Get a Role in Shaping What Comes Next
Lukaszewski framed the launch as a direct response to consumer demand. “Our fans were our inspiration,” she said. “Our goal is to bring one of fans’ most persistent requests to life and see just how much appetite there really is to go big with the pouch.”
She added: “There’s an emotional connection to this brand that spans generations, and we don’t take that for granted. We want our fans to have a meaningful role in shaping what we do and the Big Pouch is one way we’re putting that belief into practice.”
Customers who buy one are being encouraged to share their reactions on social media using the hashtag #CapriSunBigPouch. If the response is strong enough, the brand says the giant format could eventually become a permanent part of its lineup.
A Long History of Expanding Formats
This is not Capri Sun’s first push beyond its familiar shape. In 2025, the company released the Solstice Pouch, an incredibly long 15-inch version that sold out within minutes before appearing on eBay for more than $100.
The brand has also tried dropping the pouch entirely. In 2024, reports surfaced that Capri Sun was launching 12-ounce bottled juices aimed at adults, which divided fans who argued the drink would lose its identity without its iconic straw.
The Big Pouch appears to offer a middle path. Grown-up fans get a much larger serving without losing the nostalgic packaging.
The Refillable Design
The refillable approach solves a practical problem while preserving the brand’s identity. Instead of a one-time purchase that ends when the juice runs out, the Big Pouch becomes a vessel that travels from fridge to lunchbox repeatedly.
The giant straw is a natural fit.
What Comes Next for the Big Pouch
The limited-edition test at Walmart is the first step. Whether the Big Pouch moves to permanent status depends on how fans respond to the daily drops.
If the hashtag fills with enough posts, the brand has signaled it is listening. For now, the refillable pouch is a clever way to satisfy a request that has lingered for years.
“Our goal is to bring one of fans’ most persistent requests to life and see just how much appetite there really is to go big with the pouch.”
