The numbers say it all about how this game came to be. Marvel’s Wolverine drew 268,500 Peak Viewers in livestreaming at launch, while Insomniac Games built a single-player action-adventure game for PS5. That game then appeared on every streaming platform at once, pulling in more than 3.46 million Hours Watched in roughly a day and a half.

The game launched worldwide on September 15, 2026, with an early access window opening a day earlier on September 14. It is Insomniac’s first Marvel title outside the Spider-Man series and its first mature-rated project, built around brutal close-quarters combat, Logan’s healing factor and a story that moves between Canada’s north and the wider X-Men universe.

The Numbers Behind the Launch

The evening of September 15 saw Marvel’s Wolverine hit a peak of 268,500 concurrent viewers across Twitch, YouTube, Kick and other services. In total, the game notched 3.46 million Hours Watched, while more than 15,300 distinct channels streamed it during its initial day and a half.

Broadcasts of the game on Twitch generated around 2.5 million Hours Watched, making it the dominant platform for viewing. On the first full day after release, Marvel’s Wolverine became the third-most-watched game on the site, trailing only GTA V and WARDOGS.

The Global Audience

A worldwide audience tuned into the event, with 51.2% of Hours Watched originating from broadcasts not in English. The United States led all countries in total viewership, contributing 28.8%, trailed closely by Spain and Russia, each delivering just over 7%. The crowd was largely made up of men (79.9%), with viewers aged 20–29 making up 54.3% of the total.

Who Was Watching

The launch coverage was led by Kai Cenat. He ran a Wolverine Marathon simulcast on both Twitch and YouTube throughout September 14–15, drawing over 383,200 Hours Watched. His two channels together hit a combined peak audience of 74,900 viewers — the largest number recorded for any streamer.

The Spanish-speaking community formed the largest non-English audience segment. Rubén “Rubius” Doblas and Juan “IlloJuan” García generated more than 144,900 and 183,900 Hours Watched, respectively. Indonesia’s Windah Basudara led YouTube with over 29,600 Peak Viewers — the highest peak recorded outside Twitch.

The Sponsored Push

The campaign ran creator activations across the United States, Germany, Poland and Asia. It relied on a shared !WolverinePS5 chat command placed in stream titles, along with disclosures including #ad, #Werbung and “Sponsored by PlayStation Asia.”. Sponsored streams produced roughly 13.9% of the game’s total Hours Watched from September 14 through 15.

It’s a remarkable percentage. For most AAA titles, sponsored broadcasts typically make up no more than 10% of a game’s launch audience.

The Competition

On the day it launched, Marvel’s Wolverine faced heavy competition from EA Sports FC 27, which went live on the same day, and from WARDOGS, which was still in its Early Access period. On its official release day, the game made up 4.29% of all Twitch watch time and reached 6.31% of the platform’s concurrent audience at its peak.

The Top Streamers

Three streamers — Kai Cenat, IlloJuan and Rubius — broadcast the game without making any sponsorship disclosures. Germany was the exception, with four #Werbung-labelled channels appearing among the top sponsored streams.

What It All Means

The absence of a battle pass drew hundreds of thousands of peak viewers and millions of hours watched to a single-player game. Both the excitement around its launch and the sponsored campaigns behind it helped drive that attention.

The crowd was youthful and mostly male, and its reach crossed borders far beyond what most single-player games can claim. The broadcasters pushing the totals were not merely the biggest names, but those who threw themselves fully into the long run.
