Raven2 – ZERO Binds Player Growth to Real Gameplay Inside Its Post-Apocalyptic MMO

Raven2's Zero server strips away premium gear and lets players grow through play alone, a rare concession in a punishing MMORPG.

Netmarble’s Raven2 has added a new server, and it is a relief to anyone who has felt shut out by the game’s punishing PvP competition. The Raven2 – Zero update redesigns the progression system so that growth comes from play, not from spending money. Players can finally get a foothold in the game without fear of being merc’d because they did not pay up.

The New Server’s Core Idea

Raven2 – Zero is a fresh start with less pressure to spend. The server reduces quest requirements and increases EXP gained from fighting monsters, so players can progress through hunting areas with more ease. Accuracy balance has been re-adjusted so that contributions in large-scale battles are registered instead of being chalked up to miss after miss.

The server also strips away premium gear. Mythic-grade Holy Garments, Familiars, and Awakenings are excluded entirely. Instead, players earn Holy Garments and Familiars by participating in events. The highest-graded equipment available on Zero comes from event participation, not from immediate purchases.

What Players Get on Zero

New arrivals receive the [Zero] Special Starter Package, which includes Heroic-grade Holy Garments and Familiars. Players also get 550 Summon scrolls, as well as Legendary Holy Garments and Familiars, all of which help grow a character without heavy grinding. Additional Heroic-grade equipment and level milestone rewards come through other events, further reducing spending pressure.

Why Zero Matters

The Zero server eliminates the sinking feeling of entering a game where everyone’s friend groups are already established. It gives everyone the same level ground to stand on. There is still tons of fighting to be done on this new server, but it is more about wailing on monsters than fighting other players.

What You Can Collect

Players collect Farming Crystals, a new currency available only while playing the game. These crystals can be exchanged for key items from the Shop, so your hard work is directly rewarded. Field hunting bumps up equipment drop rates for field loot drops, making the grind more worthwhile.

How Progression Works Now

  1. Fight monsters to gain EXP, which is increased from fighting monsters.
  2. Participate in events to earn Holy Garments and Familiars.
  3. Use Farming Crystals to buy Shop items.
  4. Complete quests with reduced requirements.

A Rare Concession

Raven2 – Zero is a bold move, and it offers a much-more laid-back option, focused on lowering the barrier to early progression. The server addresses hardcore PvP competition between established players by removing premium gear from the equation.

The Zero update is a welcome change for a game with a history of hardcore PvP competition. It gives newcomers a fair shot at leveling up without having to spend real money to keep up. That is a rare concession in an otherwise punishingly competitive MMORPG.
