Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave Guide: Finding Giants’ Meat for Your Next Expedition

A guide to giants' meat in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave: where to find the spawn, and the simple truth behind the rare ingredient.

By mitch·3 min read
A mighty warrior faces a towering stone giant amid a vast desert landscape.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave requires giants’ meat to recruit Goliath, and the game’s guide explains how to get it. The truth is simpler: you have to kill giants.

What Giants’ Meat Does

Three pieces of giants’ meat are needed to bring Goliath into your party. He is a gladiator, and his request is a hard one, because finding this material takes some time hunting giants.

Two Ways to Get It

There are two paths to giants’ meat. One is killing giants found on the map. The other is opening meat crates. The crate route is the less reliable one, since you cannot know which items you will get when you open a crate.

Where to Find Giants

Giants usually appear on the west side of the map, in the Pasithea area, south of the desert. Small versions of the strongest foes in each node appear above them, making it easy to spot where giants spawn.

If you have already explored the area, use the carriage to reach the Chiron Posthouse, which is the closest posthouse to the area where you can find giants. If not, the Callisto Posthouse is the fastest way to get there.

Why Giants Always Spawn

Enemies’ level scales with your party, but giants always spawned for me as the strongest foes on the map. Prepare your strongest unit and go hunt them. You get one giants’ meat per giant defeated.

Most encounters only put one or two giants in the fight, so you will probably have to return to Pasithea more than once if you want to recruit Goliath. Returning to Dagsion lets you force enemies to spawn on the world map, speeding up the process.

Other Guides in the Series

If you are new to Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the guide series also covers which character to pick first, how to change heroes, and whether you should play in casual or classic mode. There are explainers on setting up the campaign according to your preferences.

The game is massive, so the series explains how long it will take to finish it. As you move through the early Heroic Games matches, you should focus on recruiting more characters and spending free time in the best way possible.

The Whole Trick

The advice is simple: kill giants. That is the whole trick.

Comparing the Two Paths

Method Reliability How to Get
Killing giants Most reliable Hunt giants in Pasithea
Opening crates Less reliable Open crates, unsure what drops

Key Facts Box

  • Recruit Goliath: 3 pieces of giants’ meat
  • Spawn location: Pasithea, west side of the map, south of the desert
  • Posthouses: Chiron (closest) or Callisto (fastest)
  • Enemies scale: Level scales with your party
  • Drops per giant: 1 giants’ meat
  • Forces spawns: Return to Dagsion

Our View on the Guide

The guide explains the paths of causality, the character setup, and how to manage your time across the campaign.

The actual hunt is simple arithmetic. You need three pieces, giants drop one per kill, and you will likely need to go back more than once. The guide’s honest admission that the hunt is just hunting is the core of the advice.

It is a small victory, but it is a victory.
