The Korean studio CJ ENM has entered into an arrangement with TV Markíza in Slovakia and TV Nova in the Czech Republic, both of which fall under the ownership of Central European Media Enterprises (CME). Through the partnership, ten scripted titles will be made available across Central and Eastern Europe, among them several of the studio’s most prominent names.
The Titles In The Deal
Signal, Encounter, Her Private Life, Hotel Del Luna and True Beauty all come inside the package. So do several smaller CJ ENM titles, including The Witch’s Diner, Doom At Your Service, Twinkling Watermelon, Lovely Runner and Guardian: The Lonely And Great God.
What The Partnership Covers
The arrangements cover distribution rights for the titles set out below across both outlets. Since CME controls both broadcasters, the Korean studio gains access to two markets through a single arrangement.
The Poland Connection
CJ ENM has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Korean Cultural Center in Poland. The MoU was signed during the 2026 Poland-Korea Brand Week, hosted by KOCCA.
The gathering brought together B2C activities aimed at fans, among which were interactive booths dedicated to Lovely Runner and The Legend Of The Kitchen Soldier. A special screening of The Legend Of The Kitchen Soldier took place, then a panel discussion with Kim Tae-hoon, CJ ENM Chief Producer, who explained the story behind the show and its creation to those in attendance.
The Broader Strategy
CJ ENM’s push to expand its K-Content distribution across Central and Eastern Europe includes the CME partnership, which is part of a broader effort to grow its presence there. The company is also building local partnerships and expanding its content offerings in the region.
The Deal In Numbers
Together, the two arrangements cover a total of 10 scripted titles. The broadcaster breakdown is set out below.
- TV Markíza in Slovakia — owned by CME
- TV Nova in the Czech Republic — owned by CME
| Title | Original Country |
|---|---|
| Signal | South Korea |
| Encounter | South Korea |
| Her Private Life | South Korea |
| Hotel Del Luna | South Korea |
| True Beauty | South Korea |
The Takeaway
CJ ENM is sending hit dramas across Central and Eastern Europe. From Hotel Del Luna to Signal, the region’s broadcasters now get access to a broader selection of the studio’s scripted library.
As Sebastian Kim puts it plainly, CEE stands as a market with strong potential for further growth.
