On its release day, the dark fantasy action RPG Blood of Dawnwalker shot straight to the top of Twitch. The game, from the studio behind The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, generated just over 2 million Hours Watched on September 3, its first full day on the platform, and averaged 89.4K viewers. By both metrics, it was the most-watched game on Twitch that day.

The game is the debut title from Polish studio Rebel Wolves, founded by former developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and released on September 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Twitch Numbers and the Competition

On the day it came out, The Blood of Dawnwalker hit 161.6K Peak Viewers, placing fourth among all streams on the platform that day. World of Warcraft’s The Race to World First: The Venomous Abyss was still drawing more viewers as it approached its finish. The military shooter WARDOGS also drew a larger peak audience as it entered the final stretch of open testing before its early access launch.

Among recent releases, The Blood of Dawnwalker exceeded Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Forza Horizon 6 in Hours Watched, though it did not reach the level set by Subnautica 2.

On the day it came out, SteamDB recorded a peak of 64.4K people playing the game at the same time. The number watching the livestream was considerably higher.

Polish Streamers Lead the Way

Among the game’s streamers, Polish creators stood out for their activity, holding the top spot in the count of distinct channels and actually outpacing the United States. Considering the game’s Polish development team and its pronounced focus on Eastern European folklore, this outcome comes as no surprise at all.

Twitch was the main platform for The Blood of Dawnwalker streams, but across all livestreaming services, the most popular creator on release day was Poland’s Artur “rybsonlol” Gębicz. He streams on Kick and primarily specializes in League of Legends content. Rybsonlol topped the rankings by both Hours Watched and Peak Viewers.

Recent release comparisons by Hours Watched:

  1. Subnautica 2 — more Hours Watched than Dawnwalker
  2. The Blood of Dawnwalker — 2 million+ Hours Watched, 89.4K average viewers
  3. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced — fewer Hours Watched than Dawnwalker
  4. Forza Horizon 6 — fewer Hours Watched than Dawnwalker

Twitch Drops and Launch Rewards

To mark the release, Twitch offered special Drops, letting viewers earn unique badges for either watching an hour of the game’s broadcasts or gifting a paid subscription.

On September 3, 2026, the official Dawnwalker account announced the promotion, using the hashtag #Dawnwalker. The post said: “Two unique Twitch Drops are waiting for you! Watch for 1 h and claim the Dawnwalker Launch Badge. Purchase 1 new recurring or gift subscription and claim the Dawnwalker Supporter Badge.”

Reward How to Earn
Dawnwalker Launch Badge Watch 1 hour of broadcasts

What Is The Blood of Dawnwalker?

A dark fantasy role-playing game set in 14th-century Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker puts players in control of Coen, who stays human by day while turning into a vampire by night. That transformation grants him distinct powers and alternative means of finishing his missions.

The game’s main feature is its nonlinear “narrative sandbox.” Players have 30 in-game days to save Coen’s family, while their decisions and use of time shape how the story unfolds.

The Twitch launch drew genuine attention from streamers, and the numbers confirm it. The game’s first day of streaming placed it squarely at the heart of the livestreaming world.
