Capital One is sweetening its Venture Rewards Credit Card offer with a two-part welcome bonus worth more than $1,000 in travel value.
Starting Sept. 8, new cardholders get a one-time $300 Capital One Travel Stays Credit plus 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 within the first three months of account opening. The card carries a $95 annual fee.
The new welcome bonus breakdown
The $300 credit requires no spending. You apply it toward eligible hotel and vacation rental bookings made through Capital One Travel, which includes more than 500,000 vacation rentals worldwide.
The 75,000 miles are worth up to $750 when redeemed through Capital One Travel, toward a travel purchase, or as a statement credit. You can also transfer miles to partners like JetBlue TrueBlue, Emirates Skywards, Air Canada Aeroplan, and Wyndham Rewards.
What the Venture card earns
The card offers 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. All other purchases earn a flat 2x miles, which is why the Venture ranks among the site’s top travel cards.
Purchase APR ranges from 19.49% to 28.49% variable.
Booking a Lifestyle Collection stay
Venture cardholders get access to Lifestyle Collection hotels through Capital One Travel. Eligible bookings include a $50 experience credit, room upgrades, and early check-in when available.
A two-night stay at a Lifestyle Collection hotel costing $600 would drop to $300 in cash after the credit, earning 1,500 bonus miles, plus the $50 experience credit.
Hertz Five Star and other benefits
The Venture offers up to a $120 statement credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck application fees. It also grants access to Hertz’s Five Star membership tier, offering free upgrades, a wider selection of vehicles, and more.
How to use both parts
The $300 credit applies only to stays booked through Capital One Travel. The miles, by contrast, can be redeemed more flexibly, including transfers to airline and hotel partners.
That split means savvy cardholders can pair the credit with a booking that also earns 5x miles on the remaining balance.
