Radiohead has announced a 2027 tour of Australia and Japan, confirming 21 shows across four cities after weeks of coded hints from the band.

Signs at Summer Sonic and Miyashita Park

The first clue came during a break at this year’s Summer Sonic festival in Japan. Old scenes of Radiohead played on screen, with the words “Tokyo 2027” appearing. A week later, billboards reading “Radiohead 2027” showed up around Tokyo’s Miyashita Park.

The band kept details quiet after that. Now the plan is public: Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, then Saitama, Japan, to close things out. No Tokyo dates have been announced yet.

The Full Schedule

The tour opens in Perth at RAC Arena on May 3, 2027, with three more shows there on May 4, 6 and 7. Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena hosts six dates from May 13 to May 20. Sydney’s Afterpay Arena follows with six shows between May 25 and June 1. The run ends in Saitama, Japan, at GMO Arena, with five shows from June 8 to June 13.

City Place Number of Shows Dates
Perth RAC Arena 4 May 3–7, 2027
Melbourne Rod Laver Arena 6 May 13–20, 2027
Sydney Afterpay Arena 6 May 25–June 1, 2027
Saitama GMO Arena 5 June 8–13, 2027

Following a European Run

This run of shows follows Radiohead’s 2025 European tour, their first proper dates since 2018. That tour started shortly after their second live album, “Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009),” came out.

Guitarist Ed O’Brien laid out the band’s touring plans to Rolling Stone last March, saying the band would tour a different continent each year, with 20 shows each time. “No more, no less,” he said. The 2027 run comes in at 21 shows, one more than that count.

A Busy Year for the Band

Radiohead’s camp has stayed busy well beyond touring plans. The band brought a traveling Kid A Mnesia exhibit to Coachella. They also set a London premiere for their Shakespeare project, Hamlet Hail to the Thief.

The group has spoken out against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE. Thom Yorke, meanwhile, answered criticism over his past silence on the war in Gaza and for performing in Israel.

Further word on a possible Tokyo date has not been shared. For now, those in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Saitama know exactly when to expect the band.
