Victoria Monét’s fans have spoken, and they picked Frequency of Love as their favorite new music of the week. The album topped a poll published Friday (Oct. 2) on Billboard, with listeners voting in real time until Sunday. By the poll’s closing time, Monét pulled in 40% of the vote.
The album arrives as Monét’s sophomore full-length LP, following her 2021 debut Jaguar II. It lands with a 22-track collection that includes contributions from her own daughter Hazel, Leon Thomas, Lucky Daye, SZA, Bryson Tiller, Chlöe and Bruno Mars. The record officially arrived on Oct. 2, after fans got early tastes through three singles: “Let Me,” “Reach Out” and “Juicy.”
Monét celebrated Hazel’s role on the track “You Mean the World to Me” with a heartfelt note posted on social media this weekend. “Thank you for your patience and understanding and unconditional love while mommy was in school, while I made this album, every time I had to step out of the door without you and when work didn’t end once I got back home!” she wrote. “I am so honored to have you as a feature on this album (you sound soooo beautiful) and I am so proud of your growth in every way, your natural empathy, your humor, your respect, the way you love and your undeniable talent! Forevemore, it’s you and me baby.”
Hazel’s Role on the Album
Hazel, who is 5 years old, got a special shout-out from her mother this weekend. The note described the daughter’s involvement in the album’s creation, noting the moments when Monét had to step out of the door without Hazel and when work didn’t end once she got back home.
The track “You Mean the World to Me” features both Hazel and Leon Thomas.
The Poll Standings
Frequency of Love beat out a strong field of new releases. Billboard’s poll included new Friday music from Noah Kahan, Miranda Lambert, Drake and more. The album topped all of them by the time the voting closed.
The runners-up were Noah Kahan’s new single “Draw You Out” with 29% of the vote, Miranda Lambert’s Crisco album with nearly 7% of the vote, and Drake’s HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe release with almost 6% of the vote.
Here is how the top four finished:
| Album / Single | Artist | Share of Vote |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency of Love | Victoria Monét | 40% |
| “Draw You Out” | Noah Kahan | 29% |
| Crisco | Miranda Lambert | Nearly 7% |
| HABIBTI (FOMO) | Drake | Almost 6% |
The Tracklist
The 22-track collection runs deep with collaborators across genres. Monét brought in Lucky Daye, SZA, Bryson Tiller, Chlöe and Bruno Mars for featured spots.
Bruno Mars booked Monet as a supporting act on his Romantic Tour. That tour spot preceded Monét’s own headlining Frequency of Love Tour, which starts Oct. 27 in Raleigh, N.C., and runs through mid-December.
The Note to Hazel
Monét’s note to Hazel went beyond a simple thank-you. She praised her daughter’s empathy, humor, respect and talent, calling her “undeniable.” The message ended with a simple declaration: “Forevemore, it’s you and me baby.”
The note adds a personal layer to an already ambitious project.
The Runners-Up
Noah Kahan’s “Draw You Out” came second in the poll with 29% of the vote. The single stands as a strong entry in its own right, though it trailed the album by a wide margin.
Miranda Lambert’s Crisco album placed third with nearly 7% of the vote. Drake’s HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe release rounded out the top four with almost 6%.
What It Means
The poll’s outcome speaks to the strength of Monét’s fan base. A 40% share of the vote against a field this competitive is a notable result.
The album’s success is reflected in the voting numbers. Raleigh on Oct. 27 marks the beginning of a run that stretches through mid-December.
“Forevemore, it’s you and me baby.”
That line sums up what Monét is doing with this record.
The Verdict
Frequency of Love is the clear winner of this week’s poll. The album’s 40% share of the vote shows that fans responded to the full package — the songs, the features and the personal touch.
Monét’s note to Hazel added a human element that set the album apart. The daughter’s contribution to “You Mean the World to Me” gives the record a unique angle.
The tour will give fans a chance to hear the album live, track by track. Raleigh on Oct. 27 is the first stop, and the run continues through mid-December.
For now, the album sits at the top of Billboard’s poll. That is where it belongs, according to the people who voted.
