A grocery store challenge that stretched across more than 200 days has helped MrBeast break his own record for the most views on a YouTube video within its first 24 hours.
On October 3, the star posted ‘Eat Everything In A Grocery Store, Win $1,000,000’, which kept going where a challenge had started earlier in 2026. The upload grew into his biggest launch ever within hours, and he confirmed it was his “most viewed video ever in 24 hours.”.
On October 5, the upload was sitting near 100 million views and stood first among his last 20 uploads based on early performance. It reportedly drew roughly 68.5 million views during its first day.
The Video’s Numbers
The hour-long upload already boasts more than one billion minutes of total watch time, with the average viewer staying for more than 20 minutes, MrBeast said. He added that more than 10,000 comments had called it his best video yet.
How The Challenge Began
MrBeast bought a whole grocery store and invited people to stay inside it as a challenge. The contest’s initial idea promised $250,000 to whoever was left standing at the end.
Four contestants still refused to leave after 67 days, so MrBeast changed his offer: he promised to restock the entire store and increase the prize to $1 million, provided they managed to clear every last item of food inside.
The remaining food supply amounted to around 4.3 million calories, with the value reduced by whatever calories went bad before the contest concluded.
The Long Road To Completion
After 202 days inside the store, the challenge finally drew to a close, equaling well over six and a half months. The vast majority of 4.3 million calories were gone, with just 6,614 calories left behind.
They didn’t need to consume every single calorie themselves. Across the challenge, MrBeast brought in several methods for reducing the remaining total, among them inviting guests to help eat and permitting food to be given away as part of certain tasks.
The group finally finished the task and took home the prize money of $1 million after spending more than 200 days inside.
What MrBeast Said About The Record
MrBeast has set a new personal record with his upload, yet he has indicated that he does not believe he has reached his limit.
“Even though I’ve been making content for 17 years now I still think my best days are ahead,” he said.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Challenge begins | Earlier in 2026 |
| Upload date | October 3 |
| 24-hour record confirmed | October 3 |
| Time of writing | October 5 |
| Total days in store | More than 202 |
With its current pace, the upload is on track to approach 100 million views soon, which would place it among the fastest-growing uploads seen recently.
This stunt was unlike anything MrBeast had attempted before. Spending six and a half months inside a single store stretched the limits of what he could reasonably expect to endure. The sheer size of the undertaking — 4.3 million calories — made the challenge seem nearly insurmountable from the very beginning.
That audiences still answer to determination, particularly when paired with a substantial reward, is shown by the video’s success.
It sounds more like a declaration of purpose than a forecast when MrBeast says his best days lie ahead. With 17 years already behind him in making content, he appears convinced that there is still plenty left to achieve.
