Amazon has opened its doors early on the vinyl and CD front, dropping prices up to 30% ahead of October Prime Day 2026. The sale doesn’t start officially until October 6th, but dozens of albums are already marked down, and some of the exclusives are worth chasing if you’ve been waiting for a reason to double-click.

Early Access

The sale is live now, and the deals are available before October 6th. That means you can start picking up LPs and CDs today, with the official kickoff coming later this month.

Vinyl Picks

The vinyl side leans heavily on classic rock and pop, with a few exclusive editions mixed in. Charli XCX’s Music, Fashion, Film comes as an Amazon Exclusive Bone White version, which is the kind of limited color that disappears fast. Phil Collins fans get No Jacket Required, while Florence + The Machine’s Everybody Scream is also part of the lineup.

The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness arrives as a 10th Anniversary Edition, and Air’s Moon Safari is included too. Van Halen’s Live in New Haven, CT, 1986 is a rare live capture, and Genesis’ self-titled album is on the list as well. Yes’ The Yes Album rounds out the prog-rock corner, and the Dark Knight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the only film score in the mix.

Gracie Abrams’ Daughter from Hell is another Amazon Exclusive, which means you won’t find this colored version anywhere else. That’s the kind of deal that only makes sense if you were already going to buy it anyway.

CD Picks

The CD section is mostly compilations and greatest-hits packages, with a few standout exceptions. Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits (Deluxe Edition) is the biggest name here, and Charli XCX’s Brat is joined by its companion release, it’s completely different but also still brat. New Order fans get a two-pack deal, with The Best of and The Rest of New Order both available.

Phil Collins’ Both Sides is on the list, and The Rolling Stones’ Foreign Tongues is an Amazon Exclusive. Pet Shop Boys’ Fundamental is there, along with Tina Turner’s Wildest Dreams (30th Anniversary Edition). James Taylor’s Greatest Hits and Shawn Mendes’ self-titled album round out the mainstream pop side, and PinkPantheress’ Heaven knows closes the door on the indie end.

The Prime Requirement

To get the best deals and fast shipping, you need to sign up for an Amazon Prime 30-day free trial. That’s the entry ticket, and it’s worth noting that the trial is separate from the sale itself — you’re signing up for Prime, not just grabbing a discount code.

For even more music, Amazon Music Unlimited is now free for four months (or three months for non-Prime members). The offer includes ad-free HD and spatial audio streaming, plus podcasts and the largest audiobook catalog from Audible. It’s a separate bundle, but it lives in the same promotional neighborhood.

Exclusives First

The real value here is in the exclusives. The Charli XCX Bone White edition and the Gracie Abrams exclusive are the kind of releases that don’t travel far beyond Amazon’s walls. If you want them, this is the moment to grab them.

The 10th Anniversary Weeknd album is also worth noting. A 30% discount on one of his biggest records is a good reason to pull the trigger if you’ve been holding back.

What’s Missing

There’s no new releases here. This is a catalog sale through and through, so if you’re after the latest Charli XCX album or the latest PinkPantheress single, you’re not finding it here. The focus is on the classics and the exclusives, and that’s the whole point.

The Dark Knight soundtrack is the only film score, so movie fans who want more may need to look elsewhere. The genre split is pretty even, with rock, pop, and indie all getting their share of the shelf space.

Deal Math

The discounts range up to 30%, but the exact price depends on the album and the format. Some exclusives may only be available in their limited editions, so the Bone White Charli XCX version might not appear elsewhere at all.

Format Artist / Title Exclusive?
Vinyl Charli XCX, Music, Fashion, Film Amazon Exclusive Bone White
Vinyl The Weeknd, Beauty Behind The Madness 10th Anniversary Edition
CD Fleetwood Mac, Greatest Hits Deluxe Edition
CD The Rolling Stones, Foreign Tongues Amazon Exclusive

Final Call

The sale is live now, and the exclusives are the ones worth chasing. The Charli XCX Bone White edition and the Gracie Abrams exclusive are the kind of releases that don’t travel far beyond Amazon’s walls, so if you want them, this is the moment to grab them.

The rest of the lineup is solid catalog fare, with plenty of classics at reduced prices. Whether you’re a fan of Collins, Air, or PinkPantheress, there’s something here worth hearing again.
