Zack London, the YouTuber better known as Gossip Goblin, has a new trailer out for Gods Don’t Give Gifts, and it is the weirdest thing he has ever attached his name to. The sci-fi horror film is being promoted as the first AI-made feature to land an MPA rating (R) and the first AI film campaigned for the Best Animated Feature Oscar. It opens in limited U.S. and UK theaters on December 4, with lobby trailers and billboards rolling out through November.

London’s New Role

London runs a production company called Fable, which is behind the film. The company counts Amazon among its backers. The film is made entirely with artificial intelligence.

The film takes place in the “Second Cycle of Humanity,” a science-fiction world where transhumanism has pushed humanity into a form that looks very different from what it once was. The trailer, which was released recently, leans heavily on trippy visuals that recall London’s other work.

A First For AI Films

The filmmakers are making a big claim here. They say Gods Don’t Give Gifts is the first AI feature to receive an MPA rating (R). They also say it is the first AI film to be campaigned for the Best Animated Feature Oscar.

The film was previewed last month at the Venice Film Festival market. That exposure is part of the push to build buzz ahead of the December release.

Saatchi On The Oscar Push

Edward Saatchi, the producer of the film, spoke about the project in a statement. He framed the film as a landmark moment for AI animation.

“We will be screening for voters and running a traditional campaign. It’s objectively a seminal, historic moment in animation – and we feel it could be this generation’s Toy Story.”

Saatchi’s description of the film: a dark, satirical, brutal and bold statement on all 2026’s fears about AI and our species’ future. He called it an appropriate commentary on the questions society is facing right now.

The Campaign Plan

The marketing plan is ambitious. Lobby trailers will start playing in theaters on Friday. Billboard ads are due to begin in November.

The Oscar campaign is also underway. The filmmakers are planning screenings for voters and a traditional campaign push.

What The Trailer Shows

The trailer itself is available to watch on Deadline. It features trippy visuals that match London’s other work. The film is described as a horror-tinged story set in a world where humanity has changed beyond recognition.

The Market Context

London is not the only creator moving into feature filmmaking. Over the past year, YouTube creators have been drawing big grosses from their films. Three examples stand out:

  • Obsession
  • Backrooms
  • Iron Lung

The filmmakers hope to capture some of that attention for an AI-made feature.

The Film’s Subject

Saatchi’s statement makes the stakes clear. He calls the film “an appropriate commentary on the questions we are all confronting as a society” — a dark, satirical, brutal and bold statement on all 2026’s fears about AI and our species’ future.

The film itself, per the filmmakers, is rated R and is being campaigned for the Best Animated Feature Oscar.

The trailer is worth a look, even if it is just to see how London’s brand of humor translates to a big-screen sci-fi horror setting.
