Mike Flanagan’s Carrie is coming to Prime Video, and it arrives with a full slate of talent and a certified seal from Rotten Tomatoes. The show, a reinvention of Stephen King’s classic novel, premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 3:00 a.m. ET on Amazon’s streaming service.
The series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, the bullied teen at the center of the story. It also features Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle. Guest stars include Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley, and Heather Graham.
The show promises to explore the forces shaping Carrie’s life in the modern world. As the official description puts it, the series brings “new depth and complexity to its beloved characters while exploring the forces that shape Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) as she navigates the cruelty and pressure of the modern world.”
The Premiere Details

The show is exclusive to Prime Video. If you want to see it, you need a subscription to the service.
How To Watch Carrie Online
The simplest answer is to head to Prime Video. The streamer is the only place the series will live.
For those who want to watch the original film alongside the new series, that is possible too. Brian De Palma’s 1976 adaptation, starring Sissy Spacek, is now streaming on Prime Video and HBO Max.
The Cast Breakdown
The ensemble cast reads like a who’s who of current television. Sloyan comes from The Pitt, Agudong from Resident Evil, Thornton from Fire Country, Oulette from My Life with the Walter Boys, Totah from The Buccaneers, Conti from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Dudek from The Running Man, Midthunder from Prey, and Lillard from Scream.
The guest star list adds Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley, and Heather Graham. It is a mix of familiar faces across horror, comedy, and drama.
What The Critics Are Saying
Rotten Tomatoes has certified the show Fresh, with a score of 85%. That is a strong early signal for fans of Flanagan’s work.
The certification means the show has met the site’s threshold for critical consensus. It is a notable achievement for a series that has not yet aired in full.
The Exclusive Problem
The show is not on Netflix. It is not on Hulu. It is not on Disney+.
It is on Prime Video, and nowhere else. That exclusivity is part of the deal. If you want to watch it, you have to subscribe to Prime Video.
That is a fair trade for a Flanagan production with this pedigree. The show has the director’s signature style, a stacked cast, and a certified score. It is the kind of project that justifies a subscription on its own.
