On September 3, Sony’s latest State of Play broadcast brought in close to a million viewers at once, while the two streams covered well over 30 titles from PlayStation Studios and outside developers.
The September 3 show, followed by a special State of Play Japan broadcast, generated over 1.6 million Hours Watched and reached 982.4K Peak Viewers, according to analytics firm Streams Charts. The official PlayStation YouTube channel led coverage with more than 304.5K Peak Viewers, while British streamer Marc “Caedrel” Lamont was the event’s leading community caster and ranked first on Twitch.

Sony’s official livestreaming channels and numerous Twitch and YouTube creators carried the two-hour presentation. This was the company’s third major showcase of 2026, following broadcasts in February and June.
Among the four events in the series — Wolverine, Silent Hill: Townfall, Control Resonant, and God of War: Laufey — the June presentation emerged as the most popular’ history, driven by announcements including Marvel’.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
The Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy reaches its end with Revelation, an action RPG from Square Enix. It picks up where the previous games left off, following Cloud and his allies as they close in on their final showdown with Sephiroth.
April 8, 2027 will bring a much larger open world, travel aboard the Highwind airship, a combat system that has been improved, and the freedom to change which character is being controlled during exploration, according to the developers’ promises. The game is set to launch for PlayStation 5.
Metro 2039 and the Stranger
The game Metro 2039 places players in the role of the Stranger, a former Spartan soldier, in a story-driven post-apocalyptic world built around a conflict over the future of the Metro. It was developed by 4A Games, and the setting is the ruined city of Moscow.
Players will move through the game using a mix of shooting, quiet movement, searching for items, and staying alive, with constant attention paid to radiation readings and gear supplies. Metro 2039 is set to arrive on February 4, 2027.
Until Dawn 2 at Akishima Island
Until Dawn 2 is an interactive horror game developed by Firesprite, with its story created in collaboration with AdHoc Studio, the developer behind Dispatch. The game follows a paranormal investigation show crew whose exploration of Blackwood Sanatorium leads them to the abandoned Akishima Island, where they encounter an ancient threat.
As in the original, players’ decisions shape the story and determine which characters survive. Until Dawn 2 releases for PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2027.
Wolverine, Maneater 2 and the LEGO Set
Alongside the Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7, the presentation included a final trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, expansions for Monster Hunter Wilds, Crimson Desert, and Ghost of Yōtei, plus the announcement of Maneater 2. New games shown included Rhapsody in Scarlet, Hunter’s Moon, Uncanyon, and Where the Seeds Fall, plus a collectible LEGO set based on the original PlayStation console.
