Maruthanayagam ‘Maruthu,’ played by Rishikanth, and Muthuselvi ‘Muthu,’ played by Anishma Anilkumar, are not meant to cross paths. The wedding brings them together, and the script spends its runtime pushing them toward each other through a series of miscommunications, mistaken identities and secrets that refuse to stay buried.
Chetan plays Poosari, A. Venkatesh plays Velayudham, Bagavathi Perumal plays Saravanan and Sangeetha Balan plays Gomathi. These supporting roles move the chaos forward, delivering the surprises that keep the plot spiraling.
The Chaos Problem
The film runs 141 minutes, and that length tests patience. The jokes pile on top of each other without always landing. Some of the lies told in one night feel less like comedy and more like setup for a payoff that never quite arrives.
Karuppasamy leans on physical comedy and awkward timing to sell the chaos. It works intermittently. The best stretches of the film are the ones where the chaos feels earned, where a lie told in the morning leads to a reveal that genuinely surprises.
Where It Lands
The romance between Maruthu and Muthu is the film’s emotional core. It is also the element that suffers most from the pacing issues. A relationship built on misunderstandings needs time to breathe; this film gives it constant motion instead.
