Luc Bernard’s Holocaust narrative game The Light in the Darkness has a new version, and it adds voices to a story that already carried weight.
The free game originally came out in 2023. Players step into the experience of a Polish-Jewish family living in Nazi-occupied France. The Director’s Cut, launched Tuesday, adds fully voiced scenes, extended narrative content, refined visuals and updated gameplay systems.
The Family at the Center
The game follows a Polish-Jewish family caught up in Nazi-occupied France. The new edition gives those scenes voices.
The game is published by Voices of the Forgotten, Bernard’s nonprofit that promotes Holocaust education through digital media. In August 2023, a virtual Holocaust Museum designed by Bernard became available in Fortnite Creative.
What the Cut Adds
The Director’s Cut is now available on PlayStation 5. The changes add spoken dialogue to a story that was previously presented silently.
