Hoichoi, the Bengali streamer, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a lineup so full it could serve as a festival, and it has delivered on that promise. The slate includes more than 25 series, films and TV titles, among which sits a Satyajit Ray film directed by Srijit Mukherji, new cases for detectives Feluda and Eken Babu, and the platform’s first animated series.

A decade of streaming is being marked by the platform, and its lineup blends familiar franchises with new bets across genres. The selection includes detective procedurals, supernatural dramas, historical epics and horror thrillers, all aimed at a streamer whose identity has been built around Bengali-language content.

Ray’s Children’s Film

The slate’s centerpiece is “Maharaja Tomare Selam,” a Satyajit Ray film directed by Srijit Mukherji. It traces Ray’s struggle with financial hardship, opposition from the industry, and the weight of his own standing as he moves toward “Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne,” a classic of Indian cinema.

The project stars Jeetu Kamal, Ritwik Bhowmik, Rudranil Ghosh, Sairity Banerjee, Shatakshy Nandy and Arijit Dutta. It is presented as a biographical look at Ray’s path toward that film.

Eken Babu’s Kerala Mystery

Among the films produced by the Hoichoi Studio is “The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra,” helmed by Joydeep Mukherjee. The story follows Eken Babu as he becomes caught up in a mystery in Kerala after a mission goes wrong.

The cast includes nine people: Anirban Chakrabarti, Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Somak Ghosh, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay, Subrat Dutta and Kamaleswar Mukherjee.

Feluda’s Train Chase

Kamaleswar Mukherjee directs “Feludar Goyendagiri: Baksho Rawhoshyo,” a film where Feluda pursues the mystery of a box that was switched during a train ride. Tota Roy Choudhury, Kalpan Mitra and Subhadip Chakrabarti round out the cast.

Parambrata Chatterjee stars in and creates “Choddobeshi 2,” while Vikram Chatterjee appears in “Birangana 2,” “Kuheli 2,” “Thakumar Jhuli 2,” “Tansener Tanpura: Mohonbashi”. The director also works behind the camera on “Agambagish: Drolmar Khorgo,” starring Saswata Chatterjee, about the tantric saint Krishnananda Agambagish fighting a group of ghostly dacoits during the 17th century in Bengal.

Serial Killer and a Pregnant Woman

Among the new offerings is Pratim D. Gupta’s “Chaalchitro: The Ekchala Murders,” which follows a serial killer who positions female victims as goddesses ahead of Durga Puja. The cast includes Tota Roy Choudhury, Anirban Chakrabarti, Chanchal Chowdhury and Sweta Mishra.

Raima Sen leads “Kumari,” created by Sahana Dutta. Ayan Chakraborti’s “Shrimoti Not Out,” starring Ananya Chatterjee and Joy Sengupta, follows a 48-year-old woman who learns she is pregnant just as her son is about to marry.

Aditi Roy directs a murder mystery set in colonial Darjeeling, with Mimi Chakraborty starring in “Uttoron: Charulata,” while Sabyasachi Chowdhury takes on the role in “Detective Tarinicharan,”.

The Animated First

The remaining titles in the lineup include “Debipokkho,” “Kauriburir Mandir,” “Mangolik,” “Konya,” “Shoti,” “Jujuma”, and “Kanamachhi.”. Sanglap Bhowmick directs the animated installment “Shri Ramkrishna,” which follows the life of spiritual master Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

The streamer keeps backing Bangladeshi creators and productions while adding new original series with local talent. Madhumita Sarcar and Arjun Chakrabarty star in “Katha-Amrito,” and Trina Saha stars in “Sholaka Rawhoshyo.”.

What the CEO Says

“For me, 10 years of Hoichoi is not just about the number of shows we have made or the milestones we have crossed. It is about the stories, characters and creators that have stayed with people and, in many ways, become part of Bengali popular culture,” said Soumya Mukherjee, COO of Hoichoi.

A decade after we began, our purpose has stayed the same: building a home for Bengali stories. But what has changed is how far those stories now reach. Bengali intellectual property has grown past the screen where it first appeared, branching into adaptations, licensing, theatrical productions, partnerships and new formats. Our stories are also traveling beyond Bengal and beyond language, more and more often.

The Business Behind It

More than 600 Bengali films and over 200 original series are now part of Hoichoi’s collection, available for viewers to watch across India, Bangladesh and beyond. The company generates revenue from a range of sources: licensing, branded content, theatrical releases and distribution deals. It has also started using technology it developed on its own.

The company has recently placed wagers on two fresh ventures:

  • Hoichoi FM, which delivers original audio fiction within the app,
  • Sooper, a microdrama effort that spans several languages and markets

It is also running trials of AI tools for development and production via LoglineAI.

Vishnu Mohta, co-founder of Hoichoi and LoglineAI, said the first decade had been about proving a language-first platform could build a meaningful global business. “The next decade is about expanding what that platform can become,” Mohta said. “Technology, AI and new formats are opening up possibilities that simply didn’t exist when we started. Our ambition is to use those possibilities without losing the cultural instinct and storytelling sensibility that made Hoichoi what it is.”

“Our ambition is to use those possibilities without losing the cultural instinct and storytelling sensibility that made Hoichoi what it is.”

The slate shows how Bengali streaming has moved past being a small corner of the market. It has turned into its own complete world of content, with Hoichoi putting together a catalog that reaches across decades of filmmaking and moves easily between many different kinds of stories.

The Feluda and Eken Babu mysteries thread through the lineup, giving it a recognizable anchor for viewers who know the detectives from earlier seasons. The animated “Shri Ramkrishna” marks a first for the platform, and the Satyajit Ray film from Srijit Mukherji is a bold move for a streamer that has spent its first decade building a home for Bengali stories.

The 10th anniversary slate is a celebration of what the platform has built over the past decade. Hoichoi has turned Bengali-language streaming into a serious business, and this slate shows no signs of slowing down.
