Two executives shake hands in a modern office setting.

Sony Pictures Television is reshuffling its distribution and networks leadership, with Mike Wald retiring after 32 years and two executives taking over his role.

Wald is stepping down at the end of the year. The studio announced the change Thursday morning, alongside news that Flory Bramnick, exec VP of North America Distribution, also recently left the company.

The New Presidents

Jason Spivak and Paul Littmann have been named presidents of distribution and networks. Spivak was previously co-president of distribution and networks, while Littmann was most recently executive VP of global distribution for Sony Pictures TV. Both will report directly to Keith Le Goy, the studio’s chairman.

Le Goy praised the pair in a memo to staff. “Jason and Paul know our business, our content and our partners incredibly well and they bring the experience, ambition and judgment to continue driving the organization forward,” he wrote. “I am excited about what they will accomplish together.”

The International Shake-Up

Mark Young is moving up too. He already oversaw EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and will now add LATAM (Latin America) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) to his portfolio. Young will report to Spivak and Littmann.

Monica Veiga is also expanding her role. She now oversees North America as exec VP of distribution, North America, following Bramnick’s exit.

YouTube and Beyond

The studio is also pushing into new platforms. It plans to hire a leader to oversee its YouTube and digital platforms business, with that person reporting to Spivak and Littmann.

“We have strong momentum across the business, including in areas with significant potential for continued growth such as YouTube, FAST, digital platforms and other performance-based models,” Le Goy said in his memo. “Our independence gives us a unique advantage in pursuing these opportunities, with the flexibility to move quickly, work across virtually every major platform and market and continually find new ways to maximize the value and reach of our content.”

Wald’s Career

Wald’s resume runs through Asia, Europe and the U.S. He began in corporate development, splitting time between Culver City and Hong Kong during a period of growth across Asian entertainment markets.

He helped launch AXN Asia and SET India. Later, he led distribution across Europe, the Middle East and Africa before taking on broader global responsibilities.

Le Goy described Wald’s judgment as “steady” and his sense of humor as “unique.”

Bramnick’s Exit

Bramnick joined Sony in strategic sales in 2002. Le Goy credited her with consistently staying ahead of where the marketplace was going, ultimately leading the distribution of the studio’s film and television content across platforms in the U.S. and Canada.

She was also praised for expanding the reach and value of Sony’s content and building strong partnerships with customers.

The Leadership Team

The changes put a full slate of executives under Le Goy. Spivak and Littmann run distribution and networks. Young handles international. Veiga runs North America.

Le Goy said the team’s depth and experience make him “incredibly optimistic” about the future of the business.

What This Means

Le Goy framed the move as continuity rather than disruption. He noted the team’s “tremendous depth and experience,” suggesting the transition is smooth rather than rocky.

The YouTube hire is the clearest signal of direction. Sony wants a dedicated leader for that space, and the appointment will report directly to the new presidents.

Role Executive Reporting To
President of Distribution & Networks Jason Spivak and Paul Littmann Keith Le Goy
EVP, Head of International Mark Young Spivak and Littmann
EVP, TV Distribution, North America Monica Veiga Spivak and Littmann

The Bottom Line

Sony Pictures TV is adjusting its distribution leadership while doubling down on digital platforms. The exit of Wald and Bramnick is notable only for their long tenures.

Spivak and Littmann are known quantities inside the company. Their combined experience covers global distribution, and Le Goy’s confidence in them is explicit.

The YouTube hire is the clearest signal of direction. Sony wants a dedicated leader for that space, and the appointment will report directly to the new presidents.
