TVLine‘s latest round of scoops answers fan questions about “Scrubs,” “Outlander,” “Tracker,” “Doc,” “Reggie Dinkins,” “Boston Blue,” “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” and Mike Flanagan’s upcoming “Carrie” series. The column, titled “TVLine Answers: Fresh Intel On NCIS, Scrubs, SVU, Dexter: Resurrection, Boston Blue, Tracker, And More Shows!” delivers quotes from showrunners and premiere dates across multiple networks.

Kelso’s Return Is Still Logistically Difficult

A fan asked whether “Scrubs” revival boss Aseem Batra would bring back Dr. Bob Kelso, played by Ken Jenkins, in Season 2. Batra told TVLine that the door remains open but the timing isn’t working.

“It has been logistically difficult,” Batra said, pointing to the revival filming in Vancouver rather than Los Angeles. “We will keep trying, but we also respect where everybody is with their lives. Certainly, the offer is 100% always open if he’s able to make it work. And that’s true for so many folks…. But we’ll definitely have fun throwbacks to explore [in Season 2].”

Outlander’s Episode 3 Is the Writer’s Favorite

Another fan wanted spoilers for “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” Season 2. TVLine writer Kimberly Roots watched screeners for the first four episodes and shared her pick.

“I was able to watch screeners for the first four episodes of Season 2,” she wrote. “They were all great, but Episode 3 — which airs this Friday (Starz, 8/7c) — was by far my favorite, thanks to a development inside Leoch that puts someone in charge who’s not usually in that position.”

Tracker’s Family Comes Back in Pieces

Jensen Ackles returns to “Tracker” this season, and fans wondered about Melissa Roxburgh and Wendy Crewson reprising their roles as Dory and Mary. Showrunner Elwood Reid told TVLine that recurring guest star Brent Sexton will return in Season 4 (premiering Sunday, October 4, at 9:30 p.m.) as Keaton.

“There are some other storylines with the mom that we left on the table that we are going to go back and revisit,” Reid revealed, though “we’re in no hurry to do that right now.” Reid confirmed that Roxburgh and Crewson may not appear in the immediate future, but their return is still on the table.

Doc’s Season 3 Focuses on Sonya and Amy

Fans wanted to know what’s coming for Sonya in “Doc” Season 3. Co-showrunner Barbie Kligman spoke to TVLine about the season’s conflicts.

“A whole lot, Natalie,” Kligman said. “Soon enough, Sonya will have a surprising personal secret and Amy will become an unlikely confidante.” The season will also explore Amy’s struggles with how her brain functions, plus turmoil with the new interns.

Kligman added that Sonya’s new romance with TJ starts “in a very good place” this season, but “balance takes on a whole new meaning” as both dive into demanding roles at work. “And then, there’s something else that happens — that you’ll have to wait and see — but it’s pretty explosive and it remains to be seen if their bond is strong enough to withstand it.”

Reggie Dinkins Season 2 May Start With a Wedding

Lisa asked whether Reggie and Brina’s wedding would air in “Reggie Dinkins” Season 2. Co-showrunner Sam Means laughed about the engagement.

“We keep meaning to do that,” Means said of the wedding. “We keep talking about it. We thought we were maybe ending with the wedding” in Season 2 (premiering Monday, November 2, at 8:30 p.m.), but “now I think maybe we’re starting Season 3 with the wedding.” He added, “The wedding planning continues.”

Boston Blue’s Wedding Date Remains a Secret

Danielle asked about Sarah and Seth’s wedding in “Boston Blue” Season 2. Co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier confirmed the couple is headed down the aisle.

“When people get engaged, that generally ends in a wedding,” Sonnier said. “So I don’t think it’s spoiling anything to say that, yes, that’s what we’re moving toward.” He kept quiet on the exact date but teased, “As with most things in life, it doesn’t exactly go down the way it’s planned.”

Stuart’s Episodes Stay Short on Purpose

Roger asked why “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” Season 1 was so short and whether Season 2 would be longer. The franchise co-creator Chuck Lorre answered directly.

“We’re not looking at our wristwatch at all,” Lorre said. “That’s one of the blessings about being in the streaming universe. There’s no real reason to stamp it with a certain time. The only thing that needs attention is: Does the story work? Is watching our characters eat shrubbery and vomit in their mouths funny? We thought so.”

The Season 7 telepathy episode clocked in at roughly 15 minutes, including main titles and credits. Stars John Ross Bowie and Brian Posehn told TVLine that the producers actually had to add a scene to reach that length.

Carrie’s Adaptation Adds New Layers

Sammy asked how Mike Flanagan’s upcoming “Carrie” series might differ from the original movie. The eight-episode Prime Video adaptation drops as a binge Wednesday, October 7.

The adaptation adds lots of interesting layers to Carrie’s story, according to TVLine’s report.

The Column’s Takeaway

The column is a reminder that TV fans have a direct line to the people making the shows they love. Whether it’s a Kelso cameo or a wedding date, the answers are out there — you just have to ask.

The column’s biggest takeaway is that showrunners are honest about what they can deliver. Kelso may never return, but the revival will honor him. The wedding question is mostly settled, even when the date stays under wraps.
