The concluding chapter in Marvel’s trilogy, which began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along, now has its final trailer. It marks the end of the limited series VisionQuest, and its premiere arrives within two weeks.
Vision’s Return
In Infinity War, Vision met his end, yet WandaVision revived him, a figure dressed entirely in white, whose memories were restored in the finale. Since then, he has been keeping himself concealed, turning instead to the artificial intelligence personas built into his own code: F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the notorious Ultron. That final persona is the source of the trouble.
The Bounty and the Boy
Vision is forced out of hiding by a bounty on his head, and he flees alongside Thomas Shepard, a boy whose connection to Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’ remains unclear. To survive, Vision must piece together the puzzle of his young companion.
Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding.
Who’s Back
Bettany returns as Vision, and James Spader is back as Ultron.
Billy’s New Body
Agatha All Along introduced a new Billy Maximoff whose soul entered the body of a teen boy after Wanda’s spell came apart at the close of WandaVision. Agatha assisted Billy in locating the soul of his twin, Tommy (aka Speed), and she put it inside Thomas Shepherd, a youth who had drowned. Ruaridh Mollica plays both characters here.
The Trilogy So Far
Across Marvel’s streaming TV lineup, there have been hits, misses, and plenty of middle-of-the-road shows. A standout came with WandaVision, which was followed by an excellent sequel (of sorts) in Agatha All Along. VisionQuest will close out the trilogy.
The Big Question
The question of whether Thomas is actually Vision’s son still hangs unresolved. For the series to succeed, it must finally settle that doubt.
Why This Matters
VisionQuest wraps up a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along, bringing back favorite characters while setting up a showdown that fans have waited on since Infinity War.
The Bottom Line
A trailer has been released for the last time, with the premiere still two weeks off.
