– Haul included a three-drawer cabinet, toilet paper, conditioner, cereal and shoes
A creator known for living modestly has drawn attention for a particular kind of thrift, climbing into a college dumpster on graduation day to recover toilet paper, furniture and a hair-growth conditioner. His post, put out by @baddie.brad, has gathered more than 4.1 million views and 1,000 comments, with viewers split over whether his haul counts as thrifty or simply disgusting.
Bradley, the man behind the channel Bradley on a Budget with over 1.7 million subscribers, came to the campus hoping that graduating students would abandon items they no longer needed. His assumption proved accurate. Upon noticing a dumpster stuffed with goods, he climbed inside it.
What Bradley Found Inside the Dumpster
He reached for a cabinet with three drawers first, and it appeared to be in fair condition, so he took it. Next came a Trader Joe’s reusable shopping bag, which he pointed out is currently fashionable. He also encountered another woman rummaging through the trash, named Lizzie, who recognized him from his TikTok account.
Across the grounds, the two went through several bins together. Bradley entered a dumpster while Lizzie stood by recording him at one spot. Inside, he discovered a large roll of heavy-duty toilet paper, much like the extra-large rolls used in public restrooms. One viewer responded with plain disbelief: “The toilet paper is insane.”
Lizzie was asked by Bradley whether she wanted some rolls of paper towels that he had found. The towels appeared dirty, which is why he questioned her about them. He asked “They’re kind of dirty. Maybe if you take the top layers off. Do you want them?”.
Along with their other discoveries, the pair came across cereal, an artificial bouquet of flowers and several pairs of used shoes. After one more unsuccessful attempt to find something useful in the bins, Bradley departed the campus with his collection. Among the things he removed were a three-drawer plastic cabinet, hair-growth conditioner, a Trader Joe’s reusable bag and a large quantity of toilet paper. He joked that the toilet paper would last him “probably, like, the next, like, two years.”.
Viewers Weigh In on the Frugal Line
Not everyone was impressed. Many commenters were disgusted by the used items he took, while others agreed that college students tend to throw out barely used things. One commenter said Bradley’s choices were no longer frugal. They wrote, “This isn’t frugal anymore. It’s insanity. Have some decency.”
Another commenter said after watching the video, they can no longer trust the source of someone’s toilet paper in their home. They wrote, “You really can’t trust anybody because imagine going to someone’s house and the toilet paper they have out is from somebody else’s dumpster.”
Another person offered advice about looking after his well-being in future situations. That suggestion came in these words: “Dude at least wear some gloves man.”
The Reactions Break Down
The toilet paper was singled out for special notice. One person called the find “insane,” while a second questioned where second-hand bathroom supplies come from. A third person just asked that he put on gloves.
The Daily Dot could not confirm the state of the items or their original source for itself. The story of what Bradley found comes from a single video posted by @baddie.brad.
Garbage is what Bradley’s video is a reminder that frugal living often requires a tolerance for the strange. Some viewers see a savvy reuse strategy. Others see a man digging through other people’ is.
