KATSEYE have found a partner across the Atlantic for their latest remix. Brazilian DJ and producer Pedro Sampaio has stepped in to remake “HOOTIE FRUTTI,” and the new version brings the Brazilian funk that already lived inside the original into sharper focus. It also adds MC GW and Clementaum to the mix, along with a fresh dance video featuring Sampaio’s dance crew.
The remix arrived after Sampaio previewed it during his Rock in Rio performance in September. His representatives say the release makes him the first Brazilian artist to officially collaborate with KATSEYE. That’s a first for the scene.
“This remix represents so much of what I’ve been working toward in my career: taking Brazilian funk to more and more places and creating connections with artists from different scenes around the world,” Sampaio said in a statement. “It was really special to bring my vision to ‘HOOTIE FRUTTI’ and add even more elements of Brazilian funk to the track.”
Sampaio’s Track Record
Sampaio has had a busy stretch outside this project too. He recently teamed up with Ricky Martin for the new single “pikito pikito.” The pair debuted the collaboration live during their halftime performance at the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Rio de Janeiro, held at Maracanã Stadium on September 27th.
That show gave Sampaio a global stage to test out the “HOOTIE FRUTTI” remix before it landed. The preview at Rock in Rio came first, and now the full version is out.
The Original Behind the Remix
“HOOTIE FRUTTI” originally appeared on KATSEYE’s third EP, WILD, released in August. The song already carried Brazilian funk influences and Portuguese-language vocals. The group recently wrapped the European leg of their “The WildWorld Tour” and will start a North American run on October 13th in Miami.

What the Remix Adds
The new version leans further into the Brazilian funk elements already present in the original. MC GW and Clementaum join the track, and the dance video shows Sampaio’s crew moving to the beat. The remix keeps the spirit of the original while adding more of the sound that defined it.
Sampaio’s statement points directly at that goal. He wants Brazilian funk to reach more places, and he sees this remix as a step in that direction.
North American Tour Dates
KATSEYE are currently touring the US and Canada, and the remix release lands in the middle of that run. The North American leg starts on October 13th in Miami at Kaseya Center.
The full tour runs through November, touching major arenas across the country. Stops include Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, DC, New York, Boston, Montreal, Hamilton, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and a stop in Mexico City.
The Significance of the Collaboration
This is a notable pairing for several reasons. First, it is the first official collaboration between a Brazilian artist and KATSEYE. Second, it brings together two distinct sounds — the Brazilian funk Sampaio builds his career on and the influence already present in KATSEYE’s original — in a single track. Third, Sampaio’s profile with Ricky Martin and his NFL halftime appearance mean this remix reaches audiences beyond the usual dance crowd.
Sampaio’s statement captures the ambition behind the project. He is building bridges between scenes, and “HOOTIE FRUTTI” is one of the first collaborations to cross that bridge.
