Noah Kahan has a new single, and it is the lead anthem for the next Hunger Games movie. The song, “Draw You Out,” arrived at midnight and immediately became available to stream.
Kahan wrote the track with Aaron Dessner, who also produced it. Dessner worked at New York’s Long Pond Studio and Nashville’s Gold Pacific Studios and East Iris Studios. The song draws directly on Kahan’s earlier work, featuring the multi-tracked vocals that pushed him into the top tier with 2022’s “Stick Season.”
Kahan’s Take on the Hunger Games Universe
Kahan spoke with Billboard‘s Lyndsey Havens about the project. He called it “an insane opportunity” to be part of the Hunger Games universe. He said he has “read all the books” and “seen all the movies.”
“I was born with someone else’s face / A coward’s anger and a fighters rage / I wait around for them to take my place / And say love you’re free now.” Those fighting words sit at the center of the track.
Kahan told Billboard that music plays a huge role in the Hunger Games series. “To be able to speak to what the director sees in these characters, what Suzanne Collins wrote these characters for, and to try to match that is a big task – but a really fun challenge. I just can’t believe that I get to be a part of it.”
The Album and Its Tracklist
The single will live on the official soundtrack, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album). It is due out Nov. 13 via MCA.
The album is executive produced by Dave Cobb, whose credits include work with Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson. According to a statement from MCA, the record brings together 29 cross-genre artists. Kahan is the only artist confirmed for the project so far.
The Film Behind the Album

Why Kahan Fits the Job
Kahan’s sound matches the Hunger Games world. His earlier work showed a style built on layered, intimate vocals, and “Draw You Out” carries that same approach.
The song’s lyrics, about living with borrowed identity and waiting for others to step in, land right in the territory of the franchise’s themes. Kahan sings about being born with someone else’s face and waiting for them to take his place.
The Album’s Ambition
An album with 29 tracks from 29 artists is a bold move. MCA’s statement describes it as a cross-genre collection.
Kahan’s placement at position 27 puts him near the back half of the tracklist.
What Comes Next
The album arrives Nov. 13. The film hits theaters Nov. 20.
For fans of Kahan, the single is the immediate draw. For fans of the Hunger Games, the album offers a full portrait of the prequel’s world.
