Burger King’s international Dragon Ball collab features Super Saiyan Whopper, special fries, T-shirts, more — and it is far bigger than a few collectible toys. The fast-food chain has rolled out exclusive food, merchandise, and themed restaurants across multiple countries.
The crossover first appeared in Mongolia before expanding to markets including the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Denmark, Sweden, and others. American customers can order a Power Up Pack with nuggets, Super Saiyan Sauce, Dragon Ball Burst Lemonade, and a collectible figure. Fans elsewhere are getting entirely different menu items.
The Super Saiyan Meal in Denmark and New Zealand
In Denmark and New Zealand, Burger King and Toei Animation have launched a Super Saiyan Meal. It features a flame-grilled beef burger served on a bright orange bun, topped with Japanese chili mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, roasted onions, and bacon.
Customers can also order Dragon Ball Super Fries covered in Japanese chili mayo and roasted onions. The first 150 customers at each Danish restaurant who order a Super Saiyan Meal through the Burger King app will receive one of two limited-edition T-shirt designs.
The meal pairs the orange bun with chili mayo for heat.
A Super Saiyan Whopper and Pepperoni Dragon Balls
Other international versions of the menu have gone even further. A Super Saiyan Whopper and additional Dragon Ball-inspired food have appeared in select markets.
Brazil is getting another exclusive food item called the Pepperoni Dragon Balls. These crispy orange bites are filled with cheese and pepperoni, turning the franchise’s seven wish-granting orbs into an edible side dish.
The Pepperoni Dragon Balls are a creative take on the series’ central object. In Dragon Ball lore, collecting all seven orbs is tied to wishes. Here, they serve a more immediate purpose: a meal.
- The Super Saiyan Meal: flame-grilled beef burger on an orange bun with Japanese chili mayo, lettuce, tomato, roasted onions, and bacon.
- Dragon Ball Super Fries: topped with Japanese chili mayo and roasted onions.
- The Super Saiyan Whopper: available in select markets.
- Pepperoni Dragon Balls: crispy orange bites filled with cheese and pepperoni, exclusive to Brazil.
- Power Up Pack: nuggets, Super Saiyan Sauce, Dragon Ball Burst Lemonade, and a collectible figure, available in the US.
The numbered list above covers the main exclusive items across the rollout. The Power Up Pack serves American customers, while the other items are regional exclusives.
Themed Restaurants in Malaysia
In Malaysia, the crossover launched on September 7 with three different King Jr. meals, themed crowns, and six collectible figures. Locations have also been transformed into immersive Dragon Ball Super restaurants with character artwork, exterior graphics, and special lighting.
The participating restaurants are located in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur; Sunway Pyramid, Selangor; Botani Village, Perak; Limbongan, Melaka; and Lukut, Negeri Sembilan. The transformation includes artwork, graphics, and lighting across these five locations.
Fans in Malaysia can eat their King Jr. meals surrounded by artwork of their favorite characters. The themed crowns add a playful element, letting younger customers feel part of the Dragon Ball world.
The Toronto Dragon Ball Hunt
Burger King Canada appeared to be planning an even more elaborate event in Toronto. A now-deleted social media post announced a real-world hunt for seven Dragon Balls on September 8.
The promotion instructed fans to follow clues around the city, with the first person to find each Dragon Ball receiving a secret prize. However, promotional material for the scavenger hunt appears to have since been removed from Burger King Canada’s social media accounts.
Dexerto reached out to Burger King for clarification but did not receive a response before publication. The fate of the Toronto event remains unclear.
A Major Anime Collaboration
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Toronto event, the scale of the international rollout makes this one of Burger King’s largest anime collaborations to date.
Burger King’s team-up with Dragon Ball comes as the anime is set to return with the long-awaited Galactic Patrol arc and fan-favorite manga antagonist Moro. Before that, however, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced version of the Beerus arc, is set to debut this October.
The timing is notable. The new anime content is scheduled for release around the same period as the promotion.
