“Don’t F***k With Ghosts,” a paranormal comedy from 5’7 Films, is now available to rent or buy in the U.S. on Amazon, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. The film arrives alongside Potluck Originals, a new YouTube channel from 5’7 Films in partnership with The Moment Lab.
Real-life brothers-in-law Stu Stone and Adam Rodness play exaggerated versions of themselves in the film. They think they’ve discovered the next big paranormal sensation and put together a team to prove it. That group includes a former Playboy star who has turned to ghost hunting, a professional wrestler, and local psychics.
Stone not only directs the film but also stars in it, taking on one of the lead roles himself. Rodness fills the role of producer while sharing screenwriting duties with Stone.
The Team Behind the Ghost Hunt
He has created music videos for Drake, Eminem and Usher, and has also produced Stone’s credits include acting roles in “Donnie Darko” and “Magic School Bus.” More recently, he has directed genre comedies out of Toronto. Rodness has worked on Netflix’s “Hemlock Grove” and “Shazam!”.
The two have worked together on feature films, among them 2020’s “Faking a Murderer.”.
Alongside Tony Nappo and Josh Cruddas, the movie also features a number of guests. Professional wrestler Colt Cabana makes an appearance, along with paranormal podcaster Bridget Marquardt and Michael Rapaport.
“Are ghosts real? That’s exactly why we made this movie,” Stone said. “And we’re still not telling. You’ll have to watch it yourself.”
The Channel Debuts With Celebrity Hunts
The channel’s debut lineup blends unscripted programming with hybrid formats under the Potluck Originals banner. It begins with an 8-episode documentary series titled “The Great American Ghost Hunt.”.
Bridget Marquardt serves as host for the series, guiding celebrities through ghost hunts. The show features a roster of guests including Howie Mandel, Jason Mewes, Symba, Marla Sokoloff, Alisan Porter, members of K-pop group FiveAlive, and Cherie DeVille.
