The 2026 Latin Grammy nominations are out, and the biggest name on the list is not a singer — it’s a producer. Edgar Barrera leads this year’s field with 13 nods, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year recognitions for his work on Karol G’s Tropicoqueta and Carín León’s Muda, plus Becky G and Santana’s anti-ICE collaboration.
Karol G, Rosalía, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, and Jorge Drexler all earned seven nominations each. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte each landed six. Milo J scored five, and his album La Vida Era Más Corta was crafted with help from Argentina rapper Trueno — the latter has been nominated before but has yet to win his first Latin Grammy.
The full list recognizes recordings released between June 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026.

The Big Names
Barrera’s dominance is notable because he is not a performer. He is a producer, and his 13 nominations come from behind the scenes. His Album of the Year nods include Tropicoqueta and Muda, while his Song of the Year recognition goes to “Colecionando Heridas,” which he co-wrote with Kevyn Mauricio Cruz, Luis Miguel Gomez Castaño, and Karol G.
Karol G is one of the four artists tied for second place, with her seventh nomination coming from Tropicoqueta. Rosalía, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, and Jorge Drexler each match her seven nods.
The Rest of the Field
Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte each picked up six nominations. Milo J’s five nominations cover his album La Vida Era Más Corta, crafted with help from Trueno.
The Best New Artist category is crowded, with 12 acts named:

What the List Says
The sheer length of the nomination list is its own story. The Record of the Year category alone includes ten songs, and the Song of the Year list runs just as long. The full list is too long to reproduce in full, which is the point — this year’s field is wide.
Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, framed the nominations as proof of a changing industry. He noted that the Awards Process relies on member participation and expertise to keep the Latin Grammy as “the benchmark for excellence in Latin music.”
The nominations reflect the range of Latin music today — pop, rock, urban, electronic, and traditional genres all appear across the categories. The list rewards producers like Barrera alongside established stars like Rosalía and Karol G, while giving new artists like those in the Best New Artist category a chance to be recognized.
It is a lot to take in.
