Ikea has released an official Skyrim mod starring Matt Berry as a talking Kallax shelf, and it is exactly as strange and elaborate as it sounds. Once assembled and blessed with the magical Allen wrench weapon, the shelf comes to life — and Matt Berry starts talking at you.
Berry, known for his role in What We Do In The Shadows, voices the shelf throughout the mod. He has many, many voiced lines, not just a brief cameo. A whole questline is dedicated to helping him collect heirlooms to rekindle his past memories.
What The Shelf Actually Does
The shelf follows you around Skyrim with deliberately silly animations. It can help you declutter your inventory by letting you store extra junk on it.
Those items actually appear on the shelf in the game world, a detail that adds a lot of charm. The shelf can also be called whenever you need it via a new shout spell added by the mod. When you shout for the shelf to appear, your character yells “IKEA!”
