The Discovery
TikToker SmoothMango shared a video of their findings online (via Kotaku). Their minute-long clip focused on two bathroom signs that featured melted-together figures, the kind of assets audiences have trained themselves to watch for. “Folks, that looks AI-generated,” SmoothMango said. “I am trying to think of a way to describe this that is not AI generation because there’s no way it’s a bathroom for mutants. That looks supremely suss.”
GenAI drops into SmoothMango’s video drew attention, and the matter quickly spread to X/Twitter. User Rock Solid shared images from the clip, and fans swarmed out of fear.
Stevenson’s Fix
James Stevenson, who serves as the director of community and marketing for the developer, answered the X post to set things straight. He confirmed that “a UV map bug” is responsible for the odd bathroom signs, and added that Insomniac is currently addressing the issue with a fix aimed at resolving any further cases of glitchy visuals. Those left wondering were told plainly: “There are no AI-generated assets in Marvel’s Wolverine.”
