Marathon creative director denies rumors of a Destiny 2 merger

Bungie’s creative director for Marathon has stepped out to shoot down a rumor that the studio is planning to merge the sci-fi shooter with Destiny 2 into a single series. Julia Nardin, who previously worked on Destiny 2, took to X to deny the leak outright.

“As someone who’s worked on both Destiny and Marathon, I can confirm that the ‘leak’ about us merging the two IPs is fake,” Nardin wrote. “They share a lot of the same Bungie DNA, but like siblings they’re also their own independent entities. Please don’t believe everything you read online.”
