“Tierra de amor y coraje” arrived with a full tank of telenovela fuel: three brothers, two rival ranches, a returning heiress, and a mineral secret buried under the dirt of Arizona. Produced by José Alberto Castro for TelevisaUnivision, the series premiered on Vix on 7 August 2026. It ran 40 episodes, ending 11 September 2026. It is based on the 1970 Brazilian telenovela “Irmãos Coragem,” created by Janete Clair. The bones are sturdy. The execution is where this one starts to creak.
The Coraje Brothers and the Barrios Land
The setup is clean. Juan, played by Emmanuel Palomares, defends the family ranch. Jerónimo, played by Brandon Peniche, works the business side. Lalo, played by Emilio Osorio, is the youngest and still figuring out who he is. Sofía Castro plays Clara Barrios, who comes home to Arizona to take over the legacy of her father, Rogelio Barrios. The Coraje and Barrios families have been neighbors and rivals for years. What looks like a fight over river access is only the start.
A Dark Secret Under the Ground
Rogelio Barrios has his eye on the Coraje land after learning there is hidden mineral wealth in the region. That discovery drives the season’s betrayals and power struggles. It is the engine that keeps the ranch war from going stale. Clara and Juan meet and the tension is immediate, the kind that signals a long, loud romance ahead. Jerónimo is captivated by Clara’s intelligence and determination. Lalo develops feelings that go beyond admiration. A dark secret surfaces. The show stacks its conflicts with intent, and the mineral thread is the one that gives the whole thing a spine.
Sofía Castro Opposite Palomares, Peniche and Osorio
The casting came together over two announcements. In December 2025, Palomares, Peniche and Osorio were named in the lead roles. On 6 February 2026, Sofía Castro was confirmed to star opposite the three men. Sergio Goyri, Eugenio Cobo, Moisés Arizmendi, Mar Contreras, Dalílah Polanco, Daniela Martinez, Patricia Navidad and Claudia Zepeda round out the cast. Their roles have not been announced.

Where the Season Lands
Forty episodes is a tight order for a story with this many moving parts. The format rewards speed, and “Tierra de amor y coraje” mostly uses it well. The ranch rivalry, the river dispute, the mineral reveal and the three-way pull toward Clara all arrive early enough to matter. The weakness is the same one that dogs most remakes of a beloved original: “Irmãos Coragem” is a known quantity, and a new version has to justify itself beyond a fresh cast and a desert setting.
This one leans hard on the family triangle and lets the Barrios side carry the menace. That works. Rogelio as a father willing to do anything is the most useful piece on the board, and the show knows it. Sofía Castro’s Clara is the hinge. She has to be smart enough to run a legacy and vulnerable enough to fall into a rivalry romance.
Palomares gets the physical, protective register. Peniche gets the colder, strategic one. Osorio gets the loose, searching one. The split is clean, maybe too clean. The brothers rarely surprise you. What actually decides this show is whether the secret lands.
The telenovela remake is a crowded field, and “Tierra de amor y coraje” does not reinvent it. It does the job. The Arizona setting gives the family war a dry, hard edge that suits the material, and the casting is the strongest argument for tuning in. This is a solid season with a real chance to grow, and the mineral secret is the thread worth following into whatever comes next.
