Apple has seen reason: black is back in the iPhone Pro lineup.
The iPhone 18 Pro comes in four colors, and one of them is black. That ends a one-year gap that frustrated a specific, loyal kind of buyer — the person who always gets the black phone.
Why the missing black model mattered
Apple introduced the iPhone Pro lineup in September 2019 with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. Every year since, the lineup offered a black or dark gray option — until last year.
For the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple went bold. The colors were a flashy orange, a shiny silver, and a dark blue. They looked nice. But there was no black, and no dark gray, for the first time in the lineup’s history.
That was a real break for some customers.
