Twenty-Fifth Bam and the Door
The premise is simple and cruel. Bam has spent his life trapped beneath a vast, mysterious Tower, with only his friend Rachel for company. When Rachel enters the Tower, Bam is devastated. He opens the door himself and goes after her, willing to die to see her again.
That is the engine of the whole show. Everything else — the tests, the alliances, the betrayals — hangs off one boy’s refusal to let go.
Khun and the First Season
Season one, animated by Telecom Animation Film, premiered on Naver Series On in South Korea and aired in Japan immediately afterward. It ran April to June 2020. The early episodes do the hard work: Bam meets the allies who will help him climb, and the Tower reveals itself as a machine for sorting people.
Taichi Ichikawa voices Bam. Nobuhiko Okamoto voices Khun Aguero Agnes. The cast list is long and the show uses it.
The Answer Studio and Season Two
A second season, produced by The Answer Studio, aired July to December 2024. It adds Yuma Uchida as Ja Wangnan, Sayumi Watabe as Yeon Yihwa, Yu Shimamura as Yeo Goseng, Saki Miyashita as Yeo Miseng, Kenichirou Matsuda as Kang Horyang, Kento Shiraishi as Hon Akraptor, and Kengo Kawanishi as Prince.
The 2020 premiere is now six years back. The show returns bigger, with more factions and more people to keep track of.
A Webtoon That Outran Its Anime
Tower of God began as a South Korean webtoon, written and illustrated by S.I.U., serialized on Naver Webtoon since June 2010. Young Com has collected it in 20 volumes as of January 2026. Line Webtoon began official English translations in July 2014.
The source material is enormous. Any adaptation has to choose what to cut, and this one chooses.
What the Tower Actually Sells
The hook is the promise at the top: everything in this world, all of it yours, godhood included. The show is smart enough to treat that promise as a threat. Bam does not want the top. He wants Rachel.
That tension is what separates Tower of God from a standard climb-the-ladder fantasy. The Tower is a mystery, and the series is filed under Animation, Action & Adventure, Mystery, and Sci-Fi & Fantasy.

The Middle Stretches
Two seasons and 39 episodes is a real commitment for a webtoon adaptation, and Tower of God earns most of it. The first season is tight and focused. The second is broader and messier.
What holds it together is Bam. A protagonist who climbs for a person rather than a prize is a better engine than any power system.
It is not flawless. The middle stretches sag under the weight of new names. But the core premise lands, and the ending of season two leaves the Tower exactly where it should be: still standing, still unexplained.
