One year after Wednesday released Bleeds, the North Carolina band is marking the anniversary with a 20-track deluxe edition of the album. The deluxe version arrives Friday, Sept. 18.

The new collection includes several remixes, including one by Animal Collective’s Avey Tare, along with demos. The band previewed the set with the gentle “June 2 (Early Version),” produced by Kenneth Blume, who performs as Kenny Beats.

The Deluxe Lineup

Bleeds Deluxe runs 20 tracks deep, mixing the original album’s songs with new versions and early takes. The record opens with “Reality TV Argument Bleeds” and closes with “Bitter Everyday (Fire-Toolz Remix).” In between sit remixes from Andy Loebs, Joe Harvey-Whyte, DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ, and Gouge Away.

The demo cuts include “Poison the Sound (Demo).” The Avey Tare remix lands on “Carolina Murder Suicide,” while the Kenny Beats production appears on “June 2 (Early Version).”

What Karly Hartzman Said About Writing

Lead singer and songwriter Karly Hartzman spoke with Rolling Stone about the album’s creation. She described her constant writing process. “I’m always just on like a continuous writing mode,” she said. “I write whenever I get even the slightest feeling. Whenever I feel inspired by something I’m experiencing or remembering or watching or reading, it’s like a million different things, so I just never stop.”

The band has been performing “June 2” live since earlier this year, having begun incorporating it into their set-list rotation earlier this year.

Touring Through the Fall

Wednesday are still on the road this month and into the fall. They are supporting Tyler Childers and Mannequin Pussy on various dates. Several festivals are booked for early 2027.

The band will continue touring through the fall, with the support slots for Childers and Mannequin Pussy spread across multiple shows.

The Early Version Preview

“June 2 (Early Version)” is the first taste of the deluxe collection. The demo is produced by Kenny Beats.

A Year of Anniversaries

Bleeds came out one year ago this week. The deluxe edition celebrates that milestone with extra material.

The remixes join the demos in the expanded set. Having Avey Tare, Kenny Beats, and others reinterpret tracks from the record adds new versions of familiar songs.

What the Deluxe Edition Adds

The deluxe edition expands the original Bleeds with several parallel additions:

  • Demos of “Poison the Sound”
  • Remixes from Andy Loebs, Joe Harvey-Whyte, DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ, and Gouge Away
  • The Avey Tare remix of “Carolina Murder Suicide”
  • The Kenny Beats production on “June 2 (Early Version)”

Wednesday have kept busy since the album arrived. The deluxe edition, the touring, and the festival dates keep the momentum going.
