It turns out the “duo” in Gnarls Barkley is no longer a duo. Live Nation clarified in a statement that Brian Burton, known as Danger Mouse, was never scheduled to participate in the tour dates. Cee Lo Green will perform the music for fans across North America instead.
Clarifying the Statement
The tour was first announced last week, with Gnarls Barkley writing on social media that they were excited to bring the To Whom It Still Concerns 2026 US and UK Tour to a city near you. They promised to play iconic hits along with songs from their third and “final” album, Atlanta, which came out earlier this year.
The announcement used the word “We,” and the band framed the shows as a joint venture. Then the fine print arrived.
A Live Nation page for the tour was quietly edited between the announcement and press time to include the disclaimer, “Please note: Danger Mouse will not be appearing on the upcoming To Whom It Still Concerns tour.” The poster for the tour was also modified to include “CeeLo Green Performing” above the words “Gnarls Barkley.”
What Danger Mouse Said
A rep for Danger Mouse tells Rolling Stone that the musician “was never planning on going on tour, but the duo agreed that Green could use the Gnarls Barkley name for the tour.” A rep for Green did not respond to a request for comment.
Green himself posted a statement on social media making the case directly to fans. “Danger mouse will not be performing. We want no misunderstandings / disappointments etc. He is my Producer(a great one at that) ! not a performing artist by trade. We are business partners, Whatever he decides for himself is his right…and I support him (vice versa) this is a disclaimer.”
The message is clear: Green is doing the show, and Danger Mouse is not. The tour is still happening, but it is no longer a duo.
