Ali Ahn Brings Supernatural’s Dagon Power to The Diplomat’s Eidra

Ali Ahn's wicked Supernatural villain Dagon shares a casting link with her role as Eidra Park on The Diplomat. Season 4 streams Oct 15.

An actress stands in shadow with a glowing red light behind her, evoking a sinister television villain.

Ali Ahn played a majorly wicked villain on “Supernatural” before she took on the role of Eidra Park on Netflix’s “The Diplomat.” The actress appeared as Dagon, the only female Prince of Hell, during the show’s twelfth season, and now fans are wondering if the two roles share any similarities beyond a shared performer.

From Dagon To Eidra

Dagon first appeared across three episodes of “Supernatural” Season 12. She was described as extremely powerful and nearly immortal, a direct creation of Lucifer. Her durability was on full display when she survived a barrage of worldly weapons, including a rare encounter with the Colt, one of the few weapons capable of killing her.

Castiel eventually brought Dagon down in Season 12, Episode 19, using a combination of angel and Nephilim power. The win was significant for the show’s mythology, given how hard Dagon was to stop.

The Reservoir Dogs Origin Story

Writer Davy Perez explained that Dagon and the other Princes of Hell were loosely inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs.” Perez told Nerdy Girl Express that the idea was “what I felt was Supernatural’s version of ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and what would that look like.”

He added that the concept was unrelated to the actual structure of the film. “Unrelated to that actual structure, I wanted to write an episode about demons and I wanted it not to be about our typical Crossroad Demons,” Perez said. “I wanted it to be something very dangerous and deadly.”

What Ahn Teased For Season 4

Ahead of the Season 4 premiere on Netflix, Ahn spoke to Collider about the direction of the show. She confirmed that Bradley Whitford’s character is doing shady stuff that leaves viewers unsure who the good guy is.

“The show just keeps getting better,” Ahn told Collider. “Now we have Bradley Whitford joining the cast, and people are getting into some shady stuff. People that you don’t suspect might be kind of playing with some rules, and it’s not clear who the good guy is and who the bad guy is.”

The Shady Stuff Involves A Nuclear Weapon

The teaser hints at specific plot details. Grace (Allison Janney) and Hal (Rufus Sewell) orchestrated an attack on a British aircraft carrier and acquired a stolen Russian nuclear weapon. That move put Kate (Keri Russell) in a difficult position.

As indicated by the Season 3 cliffhanger, Kate has just discovered the truth of what Hal has done. She faces a choice about how to respond. The Season 4 trailer suggests Kate might seek advice—or even assistance—from Eidra.

A Casting Link Worth Noting

The connection between Dagon and Eidra is a fun piece of trivia, but it is not official confirmation from anyone involved in the show. Ahn has moved on from “Supernatural,” and her current work is with “The Diplomat.”

What is clear is that Ahn brings the same charm and charisma to Eidra as she did to Dagon. Whether that means Eidra shares Dagon’s supernatural menace remains to be seen.

Season 4 Streams On October 15

“The Diplomat” Season 4 premieres on Netflix on October 15. The new episodes promise to keep the show’s tradition of moral ambiguity alive, with characters who play by their own rules and leave audiences guessing about who is really on their side.

Key Facts Box
– Dagon: Played by Ali Ahn on “Supernatural,” Season 12, three episodes
– Eidra Park: Played by Ali Ahn on “The Diplomat,” Season 4
– Bradley Whitford: Joins the cast for Season 4
– Season 4 premiere: October 15 on Netflix

The casting link is a neat coincidence. But the real draw is the teaser’s promise of murky morality and shifting alliances. When Kate turns to Eidra for help, the question of who the good guy is will only deepen.
