A TikTok user named Madeleine has a question for her boyfriend: how did you know about Revolve, Van Cleef, SoulCycle and the “everything” shower?
The post, shared by @madeleinemcadam, has drawn 11.4 million views and 8,785 comments. Madeleine details the moments early in her relationship when her boyfriend’s knowledge outpaced hers. She got mad about SoulCycle, baffled by Van Cleef, and bewildered by Revolve. She admits she got angry when he knew about these things she had no reason to know.
The Things He Knew
The wedding dress shopping was the first clue. Madeleine was looking for a dress and her boyfriend said, “Have you checked Revolve yet?” She was surprised he knew the brand.
Then came Van Cleef. Madeleine asked, “How did you know what that is?” Her boyfriend knew the luxury jewelry brand, complete with its clover-shaped pendants. She was stunned.
SoulCycle was another one. Madeleine says you only go to SoulCycle with a girlfriend. When her boyfriend knew about it, she admits she got mad.
The “everything” shower was the strangest of all. Madeleine went to his apartment to shower before a visit, and he said, “Oh, did you take an everything shower?” She replied, “I can’t. No, I literally can’t.” She cleaned up perfectly, but he guessed the full routine anyway.
He also knew about Olaplex, which made her even more suspicious. They don’t talk about any of it anymore, she says, because of how much it made her wonder.
Why She Got Mad
Madeleine’s reaction landed hard with viewers. Many saw her point: a partner who knows your habits, your brands and your routines is attentive in a way most people find useful.
But not everyone agreed. One user wrote, “Van Cleef and everything shower might be the most common knowledge ever.” Another said, “My bf has 5 sisters so I just choose to pretend he learned everything from them.” A third said, “He likes baddies and baddies like him. A man that wants to stay in a certain lane is going to learn the game.”
Some viewers pushed back on her reaction, arguing that a partner’s knowledge is not always a sign of something suspicious. One comment called Madeleine’s take harsh and questioned whether she was attacking her partner for knowing things about women he may have learned in previous relationships.
“I hope we’re not seriously attacking or criticizing our partners for knowing things about women that they may have learned in previous relationships bc if so, that seems like an insecurity and/or jealousy issue that needs internal evaluation…”
A Running Order of the Moments
| Moment | What Happened | Her Reaction |
|---|---|---|
| Wedding dress shopping | Boyfriend suggested Revolve | Surprised |
| Van Cleef question | Boyfriend knew the brand | Baffled |
| SoulCycle reference | Boyfriend knew the routine | Mad |
| Everything shower | He guessed the full routine | “I can’t” |
| Olaplex knowledge | He knew the brand | Suspicious |
The story is a reminder that people learn about brands and routines from many places. A boyfriend who knows your favorite store could have picked that up from his sisters, from his past relationships, or from just paying attention.

Madeleine’s anger was the thing she wanted to share. The comments show a split in how people process that kind of attention. Some see it as a compliment. Others see it as a question.
