Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed back in solitary confinement at Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey. The move follows an NBC News report that detailed the disgraced rap mogul’s lavish prison lifestyle.

After video emerged showing Combs possessing a prohibited phone, he was moved out of his dormitory-style living quarters and put into isolation inside a special housing unit (SHU). It is his second stretch in solitary confinement. The first came in July, when he was put there because of a prison fight.

The NBC News Report

On September 29th, NBC News published its first report on Combs, a piece built around interviews with four men who shared his unit. These inmates described a life of luxury for Combs, including men cooking and cleaning for him, making his bed, and doing his laundry.

Among the reported luxuries, Combs is said to have obtained a mood-boosting antidepressant known as Remeron, a supply of Hennessy liquor brought in by guards, and a tablet for watching movies and documentaries. The documentary he viewed included 50 Cent’s docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

Consequence‘s report also drew attention to the conditions Combs lived under during his time at Fort Dix. The inmates interviewed spoke about the arrangements made to accommodate him, and the details they provided were specific enough to support the description of a lifestyle that stood apart from ordinary prison existence.

What Combs Actually Did

NBC News and TMZ report that Combs was recorded using a prohibited device while looking at nude pictures from a former partner on Instagram. The images showed him scrolling through the social media platform.

The conduct went too far. A mobile device was used inside the facility, which is not allowed, and the video confirmed it. Punishment came without delay.

His Statement

The representative for Combs answered to the report with a statement that positioned the coverage as standard examination instead of fresh facts.

“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson said. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”

The statement implies that Combs views the coverage as simply part of the job. He remains under sentence and awaiting an appeal, and the spokesperson’s goal is to keep the public focused on that.

How He Got There

Combs arrived at Fort Dix in October 2025. He was sentenced to 50 months in prison for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
