Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Hot Springs Scenes Reveal New Bathing Suit Skins for the Party

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation reveals new bathing suit skins for Cloud, Barret, Tifa and friends at the hot springs, with a permanent HP boost.

Party members relax in bathing suits at a steaming hot spring.

A fresh hot springs addition to Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has been unveiled, complete with a lasting health increase and an array of new bathing suit outfits for the party. The announcement arrived at SDCC Málaga, with clips subsequently posted online.

Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and the rest of the party can kick back, mix it up, and balance rubber Chocobos at a gathering of hot springs. Each character gains a permanent health boost, adding to their max HP. But the true appeal comes from the time spent together, with moments shared between each character.

A set of bathing suit outfits is available to unlock as skins, and they appear across the scenes shown online. The skins include Cloud, Barret, and Cid. Red XIII can also enjoy the hot springs, though he’s rarely dressed to begin with, so any skin he gets won’t alter his appearance much.

Then there’s Vincent Valentine, the newly playable party member. He prefers to bathe in the same slick get-up he fights monsters in, because he’s… just that cool, I guess.

Hamaguchi’s Post

Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the feature in a follow-up post on X/Twitter. “We’re sharing a preview of some of the hot spring events revealed during our stage presentation at SDCC Málaga,” he said.

“Each hot spring offers a different glimpse into the characters’ everyday lives, and the outfits featured in these events can also be unlocked as skins. Explore the world, discover hot springs, and enjoy these special moments with your companions!”

What the Skins Unlock

Several clips show the party members dressed in bathing suits, with each character getting a distinct outfit. Some characters allow for more variation in what they wear than others.

  • Cloud, Barret, and Cid each get a new bathing suit skin
  • Red XIII can relax in the hot springs, but his skin won’t change his look much
  • Vincent Valentine keeps his fighting get-up, as fitting for a cool guy

Hamaguchi on the Grind

Since the announcement was made, Hamaguchi has kept the public updated with more information. He spoke to IGN last month, where he explained that players can choose to let their characters level up on their own if they wish to avoid grinding.

He’s also said players could easily spend more than 100 hours playing through the story, even if the Platinum Trophy doesn’t present much of a challenge.

The Launch Lineup

The game Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be released for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on April 8, 2027. One of its features lets players discover secret hot spring locations while exploring the world map.

Hot Springs on the World Map

Across the game’s world map, the hot springs are spread out, and stepping into them yields far more than mere rest. Every location brings forth a distinct facet of the characters, through talks that occur nowhere else.

Beyond the battle with Sephiroth, these scenes add depth to the characters. The bathing suit skins come as an extra touch, while the permanent HP gain raises each character’s maximum HP.

Conversations between the party members occur only during certain scenes, and the hot springs provide one such setting where they can be heard. Such exchanges give the characters more depth than their combat roles against Sephiroth would otherwise suggest.

The hot springs tie into the world map discovery system, giving players a reason to venture beyond the main path. There are plenty of reasons for players to roam before the final chapter arrives.
