Kai Cenat has unveiled a luxury backpack for streamers, and it costs $550. The backpack is part of his Vivet fashion collection, which debuted on the runway at New York Fashion Week. Cenat described the item as one of the first things he sketched when he started designing the brand.
The backpack replaces the shell of the TVU One, the cellular bonding backpack that IRL streamers use to keep a stable video feed while broadcasting outdoors. Cenat told the New York Times Popcast that he wanted the cameraman to look fly.
“That was like one of my first items that I had drawn in my journal. I really want this to be a statement piece.”
Audience at the Show
Cenat’s live show drew a crowd heavy on streamer culture. AMP and the CORE boys were in attendance, along with Streamer University alumni. Several big names have already picked up the backpack, with JasonTheWeen, Lacy, DDG, Mister Arther and Kanel Joseph all confirming purchases on X.
The backpack is one of 21 pieces in the debut collection, which runs from basics to high-end leather. Vivet is selling two versions of the backpack. The functional streaming model holds the full broadcasting setup, while a standard everyday version, priced at $995, keeps the same silhouette for carrying small personal items.
What the Collection Costs
The Vivet collection includes a wide range of prices. The entry-level items start low, with the Vivet Journal at $20 and the Beginner Sweatpant at $140. The premium end of the range goes much higher, topping out at the Raglan Zip Up Jacket at $1,195.
Here is how the collection breaks down:
- Entry level: Journal ($20), Beginner Sweatpant ($140), Beginner Hoodie ($160), Bodysuit ($179)
- Mid-range: Track Pant ($220), Moto Top ($220), Monogram Loafer ($220), 100mm Transparent Heel ($220), Track Jacket ($280), Beginner Half Zip Sweater ($320), Electrician Boot ($320), Slim Fit Denim ($360), Balaclava Sweater ($395)
- Premium: Streaming Backpack ($550), Cargo Jacket ($580), Leather Button Down ($800), Leather Oxford ($800), Slim Fit Leather Pants ($995), Travel Backpack ($995)
Design Goal
Cenat’s stated aim was to bridge fashion and streaming in a way nobody expected. He wants viewers to see the backpack and react with surprise.
“When everybody see it, they’re gonna be like, ‘Whoa, he’s connected something from his world and plugged it into our world.'”
The Billboards and the Runway
Cenat put Vivet on NYC billboards in the days before the runway debut. The show capped off a long build-up of promotion.
What We Make of It
This is a bold move from a creator entering the fashion space. The $550 backpack is a significant step up from cheap life hacks, and the $995 everyday version extends that reach further. It is also a smart one: streamers are constantly on camera, and their equipment bags are a visible part of their image.
The collection aims to bridge fashion and streaming, and the backpack is a clear example of that intent. Whether it works is a question only the market can answer.
For now, the backpack is a conversation starter. It is a $550 backpack that is also a statement.
