A Lego fan has taken apart a Toy Story Lotso set and built a Slowpoke out of the leftover pieces, using nothing extra. The builder, known as Creation Caravan, shared the result on September 22, after dismantling the 570-piece set and putting its bricks back together as the Water-type Pokemon.
Pink Bricks Become Body and Tail
The Lotso set’s pink bricks form the bulk of Slowpoke’s body and its curled tail. The cream pieces that made up the bear’s fur have been moved to the Pokemon’s snout and feet instead. Creation Caravan says no additional pieces were used — everything needed to make Slowpoke came directly from the Lotso set.
A Long Line of Rebuilds
This is not the first time Caravan has turned one Lego set into another. Here is a quick look at some of their recent work:
- Articuno and Omanyte, built from the Lego Creator’s Beautiful Dolphins set in August
- Charmander, built from Lego’s Halloween Pumpkin
- Leafeon, built from pieces of two sets in July
Each of these builds started with a set meant for something else entirely, and each one required the builder to see what the pieces could become instead.
How the Builds Work
A builder takes apart a set, then finds a way to put those same pieces back together into something else. In Caravan’s case, the pink bricks that once formed Lotso’s body became Slowpoke’s body and tail, while the cream pieces that once covered the bear’s fur now make up the Pokemon’s snout and feet.

The trick is seeing the second shape in the first. That is the skill on display here, and it is the reason the build feels impressive rather than clever.
Official Sets Arrive
If you are not skilled at turning existing Lego sets into Pokemon, the official range has arrived. The first sets launched earlier this year, and demand was high enough that pre-orders caused massive online queues. The exclusive Kanto Gym Badge collection included with the flagship set was quickly targeted by resellers asking around $200.
What Comes Next
The range has only grown since. Rayquaza, Arcanine, and Munchlax are among the Pokemon now getting their own Lego sets.
Our View
This is a clever use of what was already there. The builder took a set meant for one thing and turned it into something entirely different, brick by brick. It takes patience and attention to detail — the kind of work that deserves attention.
The fact that no new pieces were added is the whole point. That is the skill on display here, and it is the reason the build feels impressive rather than clever.
Slowpoke joins a long list of creations, from Articuno to Charmander to Leafeon, that started as something else entirely. The builder has shown again that the pieces themselves are not limited to what the box says they should be.
