Minecraft is getting its first new dimension in 15 years, and it is riotously pink. The Sift, a whole new world with walking bunnies, shifting tides and giant hollow fossils, was revealed at Saturday’s Minecraft Live event. It arrives in the full game next year, but players can see it first in Minecraft Dungeons 2, which releases next week.
The Pink Dimension
The Sift is a fourth dimension joining the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Mojang showed a brief clip of a bunny-like creature strolling through pink grass beneath a turquoise sky. The dimension is riotously pink, and the creatures walk rather than hop.
Players can expect new mobs, blocks and biomes when the Sift lands in Minecraft proper. It is coming to both Bedrock and Java versions in 2027. For now, the version in Minecraft Dungeons 2 offers a preview of what is to come.
What We Know About the Sift
Mojang has kept tight-lipped about how players will access the Sift in the main game and how it will differ from the version in Dungeons 2. But Xbox Wire confirmed some details about the realm in the action RPG sequel.

Singer’s Meadow is a verdant area where flora grows out of red sculk. Carapace is a desert dotted with strange blue walls and giant, hollow fossils.
The Ice Caves
The Sift was not the only new location announced. The game is also getting a new biome called the ice caves. These are subterranean, appearing sporadically beneath colder surface biomes of the Overworld.
The ice cave mechanic is clever. Place a torch beneath an icicle, and it falls off the ceiling. That means players need to be careful about where they put their light sources while exploring these chilly underground warrens.
Ice caves also feature light-emitting crystals, a new resource called calcite, and a new zombie variant called the frozen zombie. Mojang has not specified a release date yet, but the biome is apparently coming to testing soon.
A Marketing Move
This is a canny marketing ploy for Minecraft Dungeons 2. The Sift appears in the action RPG next week, giving players a taste of the new dimension before it arrives in the full game in 2027. Whether it needed the extra push is open to question — Minecraft Dungeons seemed to do pretty well for itself.
The overlap is a smart move. Players who enjoy Dungeons 2 will get early access to the Sift, while the main game gets a built-in promotional hook.
