Two Nicolas Cage Classics Are Getting the 4K Steelbook Treatment
Nicolas Cage comes in so many flavors. Now fans can have both at once: Disney is re-releasing National Treasure and Con Air on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray SteelBooks, and you don’t have to pick between the short-haired history buff and the long-haired bunny lover.
The two films arrive together on November 10th, 2026, and both get the same treatment. That means 4K resolution, Dolby Atmos sound, and Dolby Vision picture restoration. The National Treasure set also includes an audio commentary with director John Turtletaub and actor Justin Bartha.
The Movies, Reminded
Here’s what each film delivers, per Disney:
- Con Air stars Cage as Cameron Poe, a former US Army Ranger paroled for manslaughter who has to stop a group of violent criminals from seizing control of the prison transport plane he’s on.
- National Treasure follows Benjamin Franklin Gates, who pursues a legendary treasure and steals one of America’s most sacred documents — the Declaration of Independence — to keep it from falling into dangerous hands.
The synopses are brief, which suits these movies.

Why This Matters
This is a smart move from Disney. The movies are both cinematic masterpieces, and the SteelBook format gives them a premium presentation.
The 4K restoration updates the picture and sound for modern players. The commentary on National Treasure adds a small bonus for superfans.
There’s also a hint of self-interest here. The promotion ends with a plug for Cage’s first TV series, Spider-Noir.
The Verdict
This is a win for anyone who owns a Blu-ray player and likes Nicolas Cage. The movies are solid, the packaging is attractive, and the restoration is a nice touch.
It’s a harmless bit of marketing that won’t break the bank. Pre-order through Amazon if you want it early; otherwise, wait for November.
Either way, the SteelBooks are coming. And Cage will still be on TV soon after.
