Prime Video fans have a reason to celebrate: Off Campus has been renewed for a second season, and filming has wrapped, with a mid-2027 premiere expected. The romantic comedy about college life at Briar U is getting another run, and the new season will focus on a pairing that hasn’t gotten its full due yet.
The Renewal Announcement
The renewal came early. Prime Video confirmed a second season months before the show premiered on Amazon, with Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios Peter Friedlander saying the show had “the depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season.”
“We’re excited to give fans even more of the romance, friendship, and heart that define the series,” Friedlander said back in February.
What the Second Season Covers
The new season centers on Dean (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie (Mika Abdalla), whose love story has been building throughout the first run. Garrett (Belmont Cameli) and Hannah (Ella Bright) won’t disappear entirely, though. Ella Bright teased that there are “really great romances” ahead for everyone in Season 2.
“We’re excited to give fans even more of the romance, friendship, and heart that define the series.”
New Faces Joining the Cast
Two big names are joining the show for Season 2. India Fowler was cast as Grace Ivers, playing John Logan’s love interest. Phillipa Soo, known for her role in Hamilton, will play Scarlett, a theatre artist guest-directing an original play.
Shay Rudolph, known for The Baby-Sitters Club, will also join the show as Dean’s sister, Summer Di Laurentis.
How the Show Did With Viewers
Off Campus arrived with serious momentum. The show scored the No. 3 most-viewed debut season in Prime Video’s history, trailing only Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout. That performance made the renewal a near-certainty.
The renewal came months before the first season even aired, which means the second season was always part of the plan.
Release Date Timeline
There is no official release date yet, but the show’s creators are working toward a mid-2027 premiere. Filming has wrapped.
Based on the timeline laid out, the expectation is that Season 2 will premiere during the first half of 2027.
What Fans Should Watch For
The second season is a chance to explore a pairing that hasn’t been the main focus of the show yet. Dean and Allie’s story has been simmering in the background, and now it gets its moment to shine.
Garrett and Hannah will remain central to the show, but the spotlight will shift to the new couple. The addition of Grace Ivers, Scarlett, and Summer Di Laurentis expands the world of Briar U, giving fans more characters to care about.
The Bottom Line
The renewal is good news for anyone who fell in love with the first season. The show has proven its audience, and the second season looks set to build on that foundation.
The mid-2027 premiere is a reasonable target, and the fact that filming has wrapped means the wait shouldn’t be too long. Fans will have to hold on for a few more months, but the payoff is a full season of new stories.
