Phoebe Bridgers, Massive Attack, and Caroline Polachek Anchor Primavera 2027

Phoebe Bridgers, Massive Attack, and Caroline Polachek head up Primavera Sound's 25th edition lineup.

A festival crowd dances under warm stage lights as evening falls.

The organizers behind Primavera Sound Barcelona have revealed their 25th edition, and the bill spans four days of music with something for everyone, from indie rock to electronic dance music. The main stage is led by Phoebe Bridgers, Massive Attack, and Caroline Polachek, with support from Robyn and Turnstile. The festival closes with a back-to-back set from Skrillex and Ninajirachi.

Three days of shows run from Wednesday, June 2, to Saturday, June 5, with the opening parties starting the night before.

Headliners At The Top Of The Bill

The massive attack comes back following last year’s rain, which put a stop to their scheduled set. Polachek, Robyn, and Turnstile complete the lineup of major names, joined by the Chemical Brothers, Doechii, Fontaines D.C., FKA twigs, Hayley Williams, Bad Gyal, Lola Young, Adéla, and Prospa at the very top of the billing.

The lower part of the listings features Pavement, Tinashe, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard together, a mix that pairs classic rock with newer acts without any pause between them.

The Second Billing Runs Deep

Below the headline names, the lineup gets crowded fast. Anohni, Underworld, Dinosaur Jr., Vashti Bunyan, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Converge, Juana Molina, and Mabe Fratti all appear. Atlas Sound returns for a second set.

The lineup opens with Arca, Snow Strippers, Shygirl, Kim Petras, and S.A.S.S. — that last group stands for Saoirse, Moxie, Peach, and Shanti Celeste. Weyes Blood, Julien Baker, Bleachers, and Greg Freeman carry the middle stretch, joined by rock flag-bearers Gilla Band, Friko, and Lip Critic.

The group known as rising insurgents aplenty is a catchall category that includes Angine de Poitrine, Underscores, @, Westside Cowboy, B0YG1RL, and Ear. For Sunday, Richie Hawtin, Four Tet, and Dixon will be staging an all-day takeover.

Last Year’s Model In Review

The previous edition of the festival followed a comparable multi-headliner-per-night arrangement, featuring a modest number of top-tier artists on each night’s lineup. The headliners included Addison Rae, the Cure, the xx, and My Bloody Valentine.

This year’s festival was hit by a rainstorm on Friday night, which forced the organisers to cancel several performances. Among those affected were sets by Massive Attack, who return this year, and Doja Cat.

The Schedule At A Glance

Day Event
Wednesday, June 2 Opening parties
Thursday, June 3 Main festivities begin
Friday, June 4 Full schedule
Saturday, June 5 Closing night, Skrillex and Ninajirachi

The Lineup In Context

Primavera has assembled a lineup that only it could put together with such ambition. Bridgers, Massive Attack, and Polachek are all major figures in their own genres, and having all three share the same bill speaks to real confidence. Turnstile and Robyn bring punk and dancefloor energy to the mix, while the Chemical Brothers make sure the electronic pulse stays alive.

The real draw comes from the second-tier names on the bill. Dinosaur Jr. and Anohni anchor a lineup that also includes newer acts like Gilla Band and Underscores. That mix points to a festival trying to balance old favorites with fresh talent at the same time.

The Rainstorm Shadow

Last year’s cancelled event ended in a storm, and that serves as a warning. The lineup, however, makes a clear case for what this festival is aiming to be: a gathering that can draw acts of the stature of Massive Attack and Phoebe Bridgers, with Skrillex and Ninajirachi closing things out in a back-to-back finale.

The Festival’s Pattern

Primavera has a history of bringing big names together, and this year’s bill matches that pattern. The multi-headliner-per-night model worked well last year, and the addition of Bridgers, Massive Attack, and Polachek gives this year’s edition a stronger anchor than even the cancelled sets from last year could provide.

This is a lineup worth the trip.
